What are some NON Hentai anime you would like to on Adult Swim but do not think you will ever be able to see as they are too mature even for Adult swim? I repeat do NOT post hentai here.

I will start things off here, I would like to see Tenjho Tenge on Adult Swim because it has great fight scenes as they are different each time, and an interesting backstory with the whole story about Shin and how unlike in other fighting series gaining power can spirtually, mentally, and physically corrupt you; but it probably has too much fanservice to be let on.

Well, since this is a Pipe dream:

1) Clamp School Detectives - Obviously by CLAMP, just a bit old but what the heck, this is a pipe dream.

2) Demonbane - I saw this in Newtype USA May '06, looked interesting. Not to mention the good-looking villain!

3) Meine Liebe (TV) - Another one from May's Newtype USA. Looks to be similar to Fushigi Yugi. One girl with several cute guys...what the heck!

Actually this is part of my wish list to be licensed in the States in general not just appearing on Adult Swim.

I tried to post this, but the topic was locked before hand so here goes...

Mine would be:
Noir. I feel that this one would have been perfect for AS, but I think that Anime On Demand beat them to it (Or is there still hope for AS? I'm not too familiar with how this part really works.). But definitely Noir.

Another one: Elfen Leid. However, shortly after I saw this series, I learned that AS has indeed tried to air this one and it obviously failed. Heh heh, blood, dismemberment, and tit-tays, its no wonder this one didn't fly with censorship, would have been pretty cool though.

Gunslinger Girl would be another one. I enjoyed this series greatly, and would recommend it. However, especially with the rise of the Invisible Children movement, I think that just the content of this series alone would bar it from being aired in America in general. I mean, it depicts little girls being exploited by a government as assassins and "handlers of dirty-work," so yeah.

Those are the two I ca think of...

Like I said in the other thread before we were so rudely interrupted, Tokko. You can find my reasons in the previous thread.

According to Webster's Unabridged Dictionary, a pipe dream is:
Quote:
any fantasic notion, hope or story: Her plans for a movie career are just a pipe dream.

I guess you can also call it a "Wish List."

We're wishing and it probably ain't never gonna happen! Razz

(Transfered from other post, with content added on the bottom)

"Hmmm I would have to say something like Final Approach or Legend of Duo. I think those shows would fit right in with the demagraphic there going for. They would also make every one in there audience lose weight as they would vomit after each one.

No seriously I wanted them to get Samurai 7, but some else bought it already.

However [as] did say they were trying to get another anime this year, and I am pretty sure they didn't announce it yet. I am betting it will be a small OVA as I am sure Eureka 7 and especially Bleach are pretty expensive.

But I am hoping on something like Planetes, I havn't seen it but I want too. Or Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo for the same reason."

And to mention some ones I have seen, I would have to agree with the Rancorous and say Noir it is definatly stylistic, I mean can you imagine the bumps they would make using those two, or four for that matter. I would just be worried about people losing interest in some of the middle episodes, but hey if we have to wait for Eureka 7 they can wait for Noir.

I would also like for them to maybe do a movie, like say The Place Promised in Our Early Days. With complex characters, and great music, I am sure they would get enough play time out of it.

Or if that is still to expensive Voices of a Distant Star is a real one shot deal, I mean its only a half hour and that means they wouldn't have to clear all that air time away. Something tells me they aren't pulling for a story that make you think to much though.

actually The Anime Network is owned by ADV themselves. since they already gave them EVA, it's possible they will get this show at some point.

Oh V1cious I never knew that. Well that would be good news for Adult swim (even if I can't get it. There's my pipe dream, they should play an adult swim type of show in Canada.) Anyways, I think Noir would be awsome. This is one of my favorite shows of all time. I also didn't mind the middle, some what slower epposides. I still found things in them that was intriquing and well mysterious, and the fact that spoiler[ It was Kirkira that killed Mierelle's family had me compleatly shocked. ]

Ha! "Rudely interrupted?" You wish.

Ohoni in the other thread wrote:
Tokko. That show is just way too graphic for even them to get away with. Way too much dismemberment.

Yeah, great attention to detail there Rolling Eyes. I ought to lock this thread for your attempt to spam twice, but I'll let other people have their say on this topic for now.

animalia, please go back and add more detail. What did you like about the fights? What part of the backstory do you like? Do any of the characters, music, or artwork appeal to you. Please add just a little more before I or one of the other mods decides to lock this one too. Thanks.

Ummm...my "pipe dream/wish list thing" would probably be Full Metal Panic!. The reason I picked this anime is because I noticed that mecha animes are pretty darn popular right now. And I think that FMP! is the perfect mech series, personally...

[EDIT: I'm guessing you meant FMP!, not FMA, so I fixed it for you. -TK]

Er...FMA isn't Mecha.

But I'd have to agree with you on FMP. Fumoffu might also be a good choice, as it is lively and funny. It's a show that's easy to keep you entertained at 1:30 at night.

Chobits would be a good choice. It's pervy, but it still has tons of heart. Since 18-34 males is [as]'s highest rated demographic, I'd have to say that the perviness of Chobits will bring in heterosexual men in that age group, while it's cute and likeable characters, as well as the mystery surrounding Chii, will keep popular. The perviness is a hook, but the characters and plot are what keep it a float, preventing it from becoming another moe sex romp.

I'm pretty sure sweet gimmick meant to say FMP. And I do agree with the two of you, that would be a perfect series for [AS]

But if you wanted to go the perverted anime route, how about going completely over the top with an old(er) series like The Ping Pong Club. It's about a six man junior high ping pong club, of which only two members actually take the sport serious. The animation isn't so bad considering it's over ten years old and I think running gags like Tanabe's body odor and the overall prevert-ness and immaturity of the other three members would appeal even to the people who watch [AS] for the comedy block.

Plus the series is episodic enough so that anybody could start watching at pretty much any point.

Bah, it would never happen, but that's why this is a pipedream topic, right?

Um since this is a pipe dream I would want to see something like Burst Angel or Najica Blitz Tactics . Not for the reason you think, In fact I wouldn't mind if they only aired three episodes. I would want them just to read there boards of people who know absolutely nothing about anime and going WTF.

For pure comedic value I think it would be worth it.

On a serious note I would like to see Requiem from the Darkness. Of course it is way to graphic. But imagine some fangirl just finishing up with Inuyasha and then watching that. Scared for life. I wish I could get a video of them while they watch, it would be hilarious. But hey if they want to call it Adult Swim I think that sort of show should be perfectly fine. Besides if comedy central can air completly uncensored comedy shows after 1am on fridays, then I think [as] should be alright with it.(yes I know it won't happen because it is on a cartoon channel)
