Regarding manga, which is prefered (i.e., is the standard for the Encyclopedia)—entering the task "Serialized in" (e.g. Candidate for Goddess) or having the entry linked to the magazine (e.g. Yokohama Kaidashi Kiko)?

At this point I think it's better to have it as "serialized in". It does make some sense to consider a magazine as a company, and that way it doesn't take staff to add titles to a magazine. And besides, it was kinda flaky to consider a magazine as a special kind of manga. Any given issue is more like a special kind of release, if anything.

It will take staff to merge duplicated companies then. People use different translations e.g. "weekly" vs. "shukan" (週刊) for the same magazine, and unless the format of a company entry could be redesigned those "companies" can't own vital information (notably "publisher") of their own. |
