Yeah, I can see Gainax making up the word just to add to the random chaos of the series Very Happy , but the first episode makes it sound like there is a definition to the word. When spoiler[ everything looks like a manga and Haruko lies to Naota's father about Naota and Miami heating it up, everyone starts using the word "furi kuri" and referring to sex. The grandfather starts doing something with his hands and repeating "furi kuri, furi kuri, furi kuri ]. Based on that I'm inferring that "furi kuri" means sex, something related to it.

Of course I could completely wrong Confused . Does anyone with translating skills know what it means?

If I remember correctly, kuri is the Japanese word for "chestnut." I forgot what furi meant.

Maybe it's the Japanese equivelant to "Hankey-Pankey" It's got that same sound thing going on, and it seems to also mean messing around.

I think I remember hearing something to the effect of its meaning having to do with playing with nipples or something, could be off on that one though.

I think it's the Japanese transliteration of fooly-cooly. Which isn't really a word anyway, bot it expresses an idea.

Cool

Supposedly when you translate Fooley Cooley it comes out as Furi Kuri since the Japanese dont have an "L" sound in their vocabulary.

Supposedly in mangas and hentai furi kuri is the written term to describe the sound of rubbing a womans breast. Literally it means breast tweaking.

I think the fact that Fooly Cooly when pronounced in japanese (Furi Kuri) sounds like breast tweaking is an inside joke..... Fooly Cooly is supposed to mean follish yet cool, hence it is Fooly Cooly

Who cares? I doubt the people who made it did. Just sit back and enjoy yourself as various robots jump out of your head.

*Forhead swells up to the size of a house and falls off forming into a cyborg scorpion that continues to wreak havoc on a nearby town*

Sorry about that. I'll get it.

*Pulls out a guitar and chases after it*

Get back here!! *Klonnnngg*

In my oppinion I think Fooly Cooly doesnt really mean anything. I really think it's just an all around word that can be used to sub for anything when wanting to make somthing vague. And it really just adds to the randomness and confusion to the show.
