I read about this earlier and I'm excited. I hope both this and the two movies will be decent.

YOU. HAVE. NO. IDEA. HOW. THAT. MAKES. ME. FEEL.

I've been waiting for this for SO LONG. After hearing that it will only become live action, I've been very...well, displeased.

This should be an anime. It's brilliant, and I'm extremely excited! Thanks for sharing that information. Shocked Seriously.

Given it's popularity in Japan, I'm surprised it took them this long. Is Nippon Animation the same studio that did an anime with Death Note characters as cameos in one scene? (I think it was a Full Metal Panic series)...Though to be perfectly honest, I'm not soo sure how well Death Note would work as an anime, what with all the dialogue. However, I'd love to see L's bizarre mannerisms animated...

I wonder if the guy who voices Ryuk in the movie is going to voice him in the anime.

I have actually never had the chance to read the Death Note manga, I've heard it was really good and what not, but I'm into so many anime series right now as it is. I guess when this comes out in the U.S. in the future some day, I'll have to pick the volumes up. Anime smile

Considering that the manga is finishing this week (or next week), it looks like they were just waiting for the whole story to be told.

No way. A good manga, is being turned into an anime, AFTER the release of the last manga? Nice.

I've heard about this series so much that I was thinking of picking up the manga and I'm glad to hear there will be an anime. I'm even more glad that the anime won't just be a taste of the story but rather the full meal.

Not often you get it done like that, it's probably so they know they can make a good anime adaption. Since the manga's over, they shouldn't have to make any major changes to the storyline.

Death Note is over! At which volume? 5? Oh man, I can't believe it was that soon. I guess it should have been expected to be a somewhat short series though. It's not a high adventure type of thing.

I think it will be interesting to see how Death Note works as an anime.

Its very dense and talky at times, and its not very action packed. Should be interesting to see how they handle it.

I also wonder what the approach will be for the anime. If it will be a direct translation of the manga, or if they will make a lot of changes.

Well another site has also mentioned the Anime series Ha! Ironicly its a Anime News "website" thus Quoted : While sparse details are available, following up Friday's film series news, it's just been revealed that Tsugumi Ooba and Takeshi Obata's Death Note manga will be adapted to animation by Nippon Television Network in Japan. A video game is due there this winter and a tribute album will be released in June. No official timetable exists for the anime roll-out although a Fall 2006 (we're hearing October) release is likely.

You'll have to scroll down to see the actual report http://animenewsservice.com/
