Hope they don't Americanize it, though I doubt anybody would care.

This is cool. I was lucky enough to be able to see it on the big screen during Toronto's last Reel Asian Film Festival. I'll be happy to own my own copy.

That's not the kind of company KimStim is.
They write this about themselves:
Quote: | Founded by Ian Stimler and Mika Kimoto in 1999, KIMSTIM's mission is to release overlooked, under appreciated master works of world cinema to home video and theaters. Since its inception KIMSTIM has compiled a diverse and critically lauded series of works by such world famous directors as Francois Ozon, Alain Resnais, Laurent Cantet, as well as a world famous animater such as Jan Svankmajer, Michel Ocelot and Tezuka Osamu.

Right on! I have their "Princes and Princesses" release, and it's very loyal to its material (I don't think there's even an English-language audio track.) I want to get their Koji Yamamura and Osamu Tezuka DVDs too... I keep forgetting!
I'm glad they got this, I have faith they'll do a good job with it, and I hope to see it one day!

This is excellent news. I had been crossing my fingers hoping for a release. Glad to know someone picked it up for release here.
Does anyone know the length of this feature?

The Brooklyn video store, Videology, who is screening it this weekend, says 98 minutes.

Thanks for that info. I was wondering after checking out the trailer that since there are a few segments from his books (ie. - Abandoning the Old In Tokyo, Push man and other stories, etc...) how long the film ran covering the bio and some of those stories.
