"I think there isn't a person who doesn't believe that there isn't too much violence in our society"

When you filter out most of those negatives, it says "I think everybody believes that there isn't too much violence in our society." Misspoken, misquoted, or just a subtle way to voice a non-PC opinion?

And while this is all incredibly silly, it does stand to reason that the state can do whatever they want with their rest stops. They'll just be incredibly silly for doing it.

Wait, so is this one actually happening?

Damn it. It's only annoying when people flap their gums about doing something stupid, but when it actually happens, that's actually bad.

Oh, wow. Couldn't they finally chill out and stop this absurdity? What's next? They'll remove plastic guns from toy shops because these toy guns turn children into potential killers and maniacs?

"A video game in a public space could be used by anybody of any age."

If only parents had any kind of control over what their children do, but that's just unrealistic...

Ah, delightful, more outrageous actions from people who just don't get it. "Welcome to the human race."

Living in Massachusetts, all I can say is I'm not surprised. That's the kind of crackpots we have running our state.

soo... Instead of doing something about the real guns that kill people they get rid of fake guns that kill fake people(or monsters seeing as I don't even know which light gun games they were). Seems like another overblown kneejerk reaction to me.

I mean all this we need to ban violence and we need to ban games and nonsense isn't going to solve this problem. Getting a ban on assault weapons like has been tossed around won't completely do the job. There is something deeper going on that needs to be understood and fixed.

Remember, guns should be in the hands of the "good guys" not some "crazy, mentally ill", 12 year old playing a 1990's arcade game. Rolling Eyes

While the NRA in its current incarnation is largely a pack of raving lunatics who make other law-abiding gun owners look bad, Keene does have a very valid point. Other countries that allow civilian gun ownership, like Finland, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland, prohibit the mentally ill from legally owning firearms; those aforementioned countries also have mental health services that are actually worth a damn, with Italy being particularly noteworthy for its progressive approach towards psychiatry (look up the name Franco Basaglia and the law that's named after him).

That sure is swell. Unfortunately, the person who owned the firearms used in Sandyhook *wasn't* mentally ill (so far as anyone has said). Her son murdered her, then took the guns and went off and murdered a bunch of other people. So, at least in this case, the issue is moot.

First off if you have a child that his mentally ill why the hell would you teach him or her to use a fire arm, let alone leave one out for said person to obtain. If she was still alive I would be prosecute her for providing means to let her son commit these murders. Flat out if you have a mentally child their safety "they could commit suicide" along with the safety of community comes first.

So yes you will have to give up that right if you want to the risk of raising such a child. Hell this is why I do not own any guns or why my parents will not register any, having chronic depression/break downs have nearly drove me to the point of doing something stupid as taking my own life or another persons.
