Ok First off I know that there are two different Megaman series one being the show that was on fox for two season and then there is also an OVA. My question is what is the OVA (called upon a star BTW) is it completely different from the series? I mean the art work looks dramically different if you ask me. I ask because ADV got a sale on both and I figure I get one, I am leaning towards the 'Hero is born' because I believe that is the series, but hey if I am wrong let me know! Any help would be great.
Till next time,

Yeah, it's a completely different story.
Upon A Star is actually about the video game. And when I say that, I mean the whole premise of it is the video game characters come to life in the anime. Basically, Dr. Wily gets out of the cartridge, wreaks havoc in Japan, and Mega Man goes after him to put him back.
I think that's pretty much it.

i actually have ¨A Hero Is Born¨ and ¨Battle For The Future¨. I think you should go with A Hero Is born because it gives you a lot more bang for your buck. I really dunno why these DVDs were in the Anime Section at Best Buy. I thought the series was completely American.

Even though it originates from Japan?
And, a little off the subject, but which part of California is hidden in porn? LA? San Fernando? San Francisco? Hollywood?

I was just trying to say that I thought the series was completely American, I didn´t know it was created in Japan. Aside from Escaflowne, I don´t remember ever seeing an anime on saturday mornings... although I think i remember seeing Mega-Man airing in the afternoon.
See thats the mystery about me, trying to figure out where the hidden village is. One clue, its near to the last 5 numbers in my screen name, they´re not random numbers (Its My Old Zip Code). I live 75 miles away heading West... I guess that was more than 1 clue.

Hoshi no Negai wo is commonly considered the 'prequel' to the original Mega Man cartoon, even though it was previously only released in Japan and had character designs based on the ones from the games. However it is more of an educational type of action series, as often, Rockman is learning about some of the Japanese customs, schools, etc. I have yet to see it actually, but I do hear it is mediocre.

Hoshi no Negai wo is pretty decent for a bargain price. But then again that all depends on what you expect. Don't expect your super fighting robot to blow through hordes of baddies. Personally though I rather enjoyed the cutsey educational kiddy cartoon approach.
Megaman: Wow, that mountain is huge!
Kid: Yep, that's Mt. Fuji, the largest mountain in all of Japan.
That's basically how the show plays out although Wily always comes in to stir things up. So if you're ok with watching an educational children's cartoon with a slice of action starring the blue bomber go with Hoshi no Negai wo (if you can get it at a bargain price, around 12 bucks or so). But if not stick with A Hero Is Born.

I haven't seen her. I think she's only part of the Megaman Legends universe.

Not that I know of. I believe the only Mega-Man series have been released by ADV. There are 2 Volumes, 6 Discs, 27 Episodes of Mega-Man and the movie that has been mentioned. The second to the last episode, is called Mega X and has to do with Mega-Man X, duh. The Legends video games came a while after and I don't know if they sold too well to make an anime out of. I mean they did drop the whole 2D side scrolling formaula for the 3D so I'm pretty sure a lot of fanboys rejected it... I thought it was great.
Well to answer your question, No there was never a Legends anime series made. The TV series isn;t listed in the anime encyclopedia, I wonder if the series is actually American, and the OAV and NT Warrior appear to be considered anime. T. Bonne is one of my favorite characters in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

I think she's a lot better than Megaman with her super in MvC2.

Which one? I like the little Servbots. Those things crack me up. But for some reason, I can't play good with the Servbot in the arcade. The super where the Servbot turns huge with that hammer is also funny.

Even though the source material is Japanese, the show itself is very much American. Just like Voltron: The Third Dimension or whatever it's called is also based on something Japanese but very much American.
