I love Kenshin! But still, that's pretty brave of you to tatoo him onto your arm (and such a large tatoo at that). Is it a permanent tatoo or is it one of those temporary ones???

Nice tat, are you planning on getting it colored at some point?

I've thought a lot of getting an anime tattoo...and i've pretty much narrowed it down to what I want and where I want it.
I want Kuroro Lucifer's tattoo, but on the back of my shoulder. I'm not going to get it on my forehead... But I just got two new piercings so now I need to wait a while before I can get one...plus I don't have enough money right now sooo...probably sometime after summer is over. |

wow, I could never get soemthing as permanent as that...no...the only tatoo I've ever had was a temp one...though it was pretty large.
I got the lords prayer temped on my chest, in Latin...it actually looked pretty good, would never get it permanent though... |

Haha wow, I mention my brother wanting to be a tatoo artist and then this pops up. Might as well post although I don't have pictures. I'll start off by saying I have two although on is more game related. The first is on my right arm, it's the FMA Flamel symbol (snake around the cross). For those who don't know, from what I found out (I tried to find out about the symbol itself so it'd be a little deeper meaning wise than just it's FMA) it's a symbol that means eternity. Although personally to me given it being a snake around a cross I read into it as being a good/evil symbol as well (the idea that nothing's completely pure). So yeah, it has meaning to me beyond FMA. And then on my back to the side of my left shoulder blade I got a tatoo of the sillhouette of Dante from Devil May Cry 3. If you look at the logo it's the sillhouette of him dashing with his sword out. Anyhow I got that done in black with a red outline. Haha my fandom runs deep. I was thinking about it and I'd like to also get the King Of Hearts done as well, but I don't know where I would put it (I don't want it on the back of my hand).

Nice tattoo. I can't believe how big it is. Anime tattoos are so extreme though. I think your crazy, your going to regret it 10 to 20 years from now. A couple Newtype issues ago someone had a Inuyasha tattoo, talk about being a fan to the extreme,
Just curious but what are peoples reaction to it? I thought the symbol in FMA meant sin and redemption. P. S - You know this is a geek site when someone has an anime tattoo and nobody is alarmed about it. |

I thinks its cool and all but I think something less context secific would be better no? I mean for the average person unless they have seen Kenshin thats just some Samurai dude on your shoulder (in which case a reproducation of the elaborate Japanese drawings of actual Samurai would be way better.) So something either more universal like an angel in the Haibane Renmei style, or something hopelessly obscure like some symbol (Fate/Stay Night comes to mind) that only fans of the anime would recognize wuld be nicer IMO.
PS. The Mai-HiME symbol would be a pretty neat tatoo for any fangirl. |

Whoa, you're brave. I don't ever plan on getting tattoos because when you get older, they don't look as "hawt" as they do now, yeah? Cool tattoo, though. I'm guessing this is a series you love so much that you were able to do this.
If I wanted a tattoo, I would want something like the mark Sasuke has on his neck on my shoulder blade or something. But I don't want one . |

TO the many questions. Yes its def permanent. I will only be shading it in the styles of the manga. Thats the look im going for. A pure manga kenshin figure. I love the enishi arc and this is a image from that arc. I've been into anime for over 10 years now. Its a huge obsession. The thing is Kenshin has been my favorite for many reasons. I am big into the samurai life and the ideals from the anime kenshin lived by. Im not just some rabid fanboy who wants a cool picture. It represents alot to me. The image is right when kenshin has to protect those he loves and cares for. It represents my ever present dedication to protecting those I love and care for in my life. And yes I see myself into anime for years and years to come. Its the longest interest I've ever had to date haha. half my life on it no less. Plus im a huge geek. Hope that helps everyones questoins. . Thanks for the compliments

In time you might regret getting it. But you can always get it removed.

Funny you should say that. The picture's pretty crappy, but here's mine tattoo of Reki: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c10/TonyPaige/P1000822.jpg It's began to fade a little after six months, due to the scar tissue and shock created by three and a half hours worth of shading and overshading with the needle, but it'll be good for a few years after I get it touched up next week. But my tattoo artist did an absolutely beautiful job, and I can't wait to have the tattoo restored to it's original beauty next week. Perhaps I'll be able to get a suitable picture then. I've only ran into one person who actually knew what my tattoo was from, but I have been quite surprised by how many compliments it draws from people who actually don't know what my tattoo is of. Also, I should say I deliberated for nearly a year before finally getting the tattoo done.
He did the smart thing and got his tattoo in a location where it is easily concealed by a short-sleeve shirt. |

The tatoos of rkenshin and Anthony P. are very nice.
The two of you are braver than I most certainly am! You couldn't pay me and hold a gun to my head at the same time to get me to get a tattoo. **Please visualize HUGE yellow streak running down spine.** Last edited by LydiaDianne on Sat Mar 04, 2006 12:13 am; edited 1 time in total |
