There's at least one important spoiler in such a list. I'd advise against posting it -- but if someone does, don't forget the spoiler tags.

spoiler[アーチャーの英霊?] Yup, that's one of the biggest surprise. |

Yes, that's the most interesting twist. Of course, a lot of attention is also given to the other surprise -- although I feel that it is less important, because of its essentially superficial nature. - abunai |

Y'know, normally I revel in any and all opportunities to discuss Fate/stay night. But y'know what? No. Not gonna spoil it here. If anybody's gonna ruin this show for you, it won't be me.
Not to mention, fans don't yet 100% know how some of the Servants/Master situations in the anime will play out, because depending on which of the game's scenarios it intends to use for certain characters, they will change around a bit. My favourite character in the series, for example (those of you who know, know ). |

Well, maskedninja (and others reading this thread), you may take a clue from the fact that three fairly experienced voices have so far spoken out, declining to spoil the secrets of the Servants in F/SN -- even under spoiler tags.
Yes, the surprises are that good. And no, we're not going to spoil them for you. Enjoy. - abunai |

I have already been able to see that my two favorte scenarios won't likely go the way that I like, but I am likeing the way the F/SN anime is going. I really want to know though is they are gona take Rider and her master the way I think they it is gona go.

This was based on a game? Was it ever released in America?

Yes, in fact it's based on what I believe is the highest-selling visual novel game in Japanese history. Or something like that. Unfortunately, the fact that it is a visual novel game—a genre that's never quite taken off outside of Japan—and one that features some adult content at that (not enough for me to personally warrant calling it a "porn game," but some is there), means the chances of it getting imported to the US are slim to none.

OH GOD I WANNA KNOW... since you guys have gone out of your way not to tell me that must mean this anime must be choked full of tasty surprising goodness so I guess ill wait till i can watch the rest of the series to find out what these surprises are... And for the record I think this is the best anime to ever come out of a game... well it’s allot better than most anime that came from games anyway.

That's not really the sole reason why; I've heard Type-Moon has a large pricetag for licensing its products, and translating from the Japanese is a nightmare due to an unconvential style of phrasing the written segments. With the release of the fate/stay anime in America by Geneon, a visual novel with hentai elements could potentially be popular, especially with young male adults; however, Type-Moon's fee and the difficult translating makes the game an expensive property, likely selling outside a reasonable price range. One of my friends mentioned a small translation group in America that passed a poll recently asking if they should pick up fate/stay night, though the likelihood of such an aquisition is in doubt unless Type-Moon cuts the company a deal. I *wish* I could remember the company's moniker, though. |

i think that's the main reason. visual novel games don't sell in NA. i wouldn't call this game a hentai game. i don't think translating it is the problem. there are English visual novel games in US. Ai Yori Aoshi for example it doesn't do too well in here. if companies think it will make them money, they will bring it here. i would like to see them bring them game to US, but how many people are going buy a text game for $40 and what game stores will carry this game? for the topic creater, click on the link if you don't care about spoiler. http://www.geocities.com/max3075/top.htm# |

No, that can't really be said to be a spoiler. After all, you're told his name right away, the first time he shows up... it's a mark of Illyasviel von Einzbern's supreme arrogance and confidence, that she doesn't bother to hide the identity of her Servant. By the way: Herakles, please, not Hercules. - abunai |
