Whats ur favorite genre?
And
Wich Anime U liked the most compared to this Genre.
Mines are:
Genre: Romance/Drama [sometimes action/fighting style]
Anime: Saikano,Onegai Teacher,Onegai Twins,Suzuka,Ai Yori Aoshi ,Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi, Da_Capo
I love all this anime cause it has great character build up,
and also story lines, wich contains reality.
It's not really the reality of the Anime that attracked me to this Anime but also that the story lines perfectly fits. I mean after watching Onegai teacher, i watched Ongeai twins, The onegai twins goes along in the same area, You even sometimes see some scenes whit the characters of the Onegai Teacher.
Saikano ,, is just the best Anime i have ever seen, it's so hart breaking, Unexpected things happens, The whole world is in a war, and imagine that everything is gone every one is dead on the world except for you, | Shuji |
Every one surround fammily, friends, radomly dissapearing or dieing.... Unbelievable it just made an impact on me like al these series
[EDIT: Spoiler tags added. - TK]

On some notes I can enjoy the lighter things, like Fruits Basket (probably my favourite or one of my favourites), which is classed as 'comedy' and 'romance' (though I think it's quite serious). That light, non-focus comedy is nice. Naruto (another like of mine) has bits of 'comedy' as well, so for some part, I like comedy. Of course, I prefer the more serious bits of the show that contain more emotion.
Otherwise, I like Sci-fi, Mystery, Fantasy (though I don't like the kind of fantasy that's all 'elves and vampires that are actually 4834734 years old but look like 17 year olds lolz lolz'), ...Many things I've yet to try. COme to think of it, I haven't seen a LOT of anime, but it seems that way to me for some reason.
I can't really place a genre on my favourite kind of anime. Good characters, good plot, emotion, preferably not focusing on character x and character y becoming a couple...That's a genre in itself.
My favourite series applying to the genres I've listed:
Sci-fi: First (censored?) half of Gantz. I stopped after the second season started, reluctantly, though I felt it had to be done. Too graphic for someone under the age limit. ._. I wish they could censor the second season. I heard somewhere that the first season was 'censored', but I don't see how that's possible. Maybe it just got more graphic when it broke through the first season? ...I'm getting off topic. Moving along...
Fantasy: Kyou Kara Maou is rather enjoyable, though I've only seen about 7 episodes. I wouldn't say it's a love of mine in anime, but it's a good series that I really like.
Mystery: Spiral. I've watched all of it but the last volume (disc), and I have a pretty lame reason why- I don't want to finish. I don't want to see the 'bad ending' people are talking about. I don't want to finish then leave it behind and have nothing more to look forward to. Pathetic.
That's probably all that applies at the moment. Most of those have 'comedy' in them, and yet I always think I prefer seriousness. Light-heartedness added in is fun, but...I don't know. :\ Wow, would comedy be a 'favourite' genre of mine? I didn't think so, but then again... -shrug-

Good question,
hmm.. though I wouldn't say that I endear any genre above the other my choice for overall favourates would be;
Genre: Action - Drama
With animes such as Haibane Renmei, Witch hunter robin, Full metal alchemist and last exile standing out.
Although the good old mecha is definitly worth a note with one's such as Rahxephon, Evangelion and Full metal panic, who can deny the thrill of giant robots kicking butt
HetBaasje are there any out of your choices that you'd say stand out above the others and would be worth investing in?

Like most people I don't think that I have a particular genre that I am a fan of. How about anime itself as a genre, cause I am a big fan of that. Though I do tend to lean towards sports anime a lot of times. I just can't help but getting wrapped up in them. Prince of Tennis is one of my all time favorites. The characters are great and have a lot of diversity. It's also one of the few animes that :I think: has a good ending. I've tried to watch every sports anime that I come across and have seen quite a few of them. Another one of my favorites is Hungry Heart Wild Striker. There are just a lot of good sports anime out there. Then of course there are anime like Hikaru no Go, which I absolutely loved, though I am not sure which genre that belongs to. Drama perhaps? Anyway, I do love my sports anime.

I enjoy fighting animes the most probably, as long as they're well done. ie: Rurouni Kenshin, Bleach, Cowboy Bebop.... etc.
Also enjoy things that are very light. ie: Fruits Basket
What I really hate is harem. I can't stand the guys in that genre, they annoy the hell outta me.

I don't know about that. I'm a fan of the harem stuff myeself, though more for the comdey portion than for the actual story. It just has those ludicrously funny jokes you can't get in the other animes. I never go into a harem anime looking for a serious story, instead I look for something to laugh maniaclly at until I die of asphyxiation (Girls Bravo would be a good example).
Of course, harem animes aren't my primary forte. I'm more of the philosophy touch kind of guy. Neon Genesis, Pefect Blue, etc.
For some reason, and I think its weird for a guy, I'm really into the romance stuff too. Something along the lines of Suzuka hits the spot.

I put these notices on peoples' posts so that those of you who report or feel the need to report them will know that I've already addressed the situation.
Once the issue has been resolved, the person or myself can remove the notice, and we can all continue to live normally.

I love many genres, because each has a uniqueness to them. A mix of these genres is awe inspiring and very good.
Genre - Action/Drama/Romance/Comedy
Titles - Neon Genesis Evangelion, Chrono Crusade,Samarai Champloo, Excel Saga and Elfen Lied.

For me, it's easier to say what I DON'T like.
I don't like Horror or anything with HUGE BUCKETS of blood. Never had, never will, liked being scared. And since I have the world's weakest stomach...(of course, I'm a CSI addict, but that's why they invented the fast forward button.)
I'm not sure if Perfect Blue is a horror film, but even though it made me a bit edgy, I did like it. Did not exepect that the manager/former idol singer was the killer.

It's hard to say really, if a story is done well I can enjoy just about any genre with few exceptions. I really love drama's, at least well done drama's with some aspects of other elements, not a big fan of the romantic type of drama's however. Also rather fond of fantasy and action. So I'd say my favorite is drama or other genre's mixed with drama, primarily because I love character development and story depth and drama's tend to require those elements to drive the story.
Though as I said in the beginning I can enjoy just about any genre although shounen and harem anime have never really interested me. I'm not big on romances either although romance as a strong story element mixed with another genre is fine or will even add to the story overall.

I am definetly a fan of comedy. Especially Fruits Basket cause there's always gags and funny lines around the corner. Another type would be fantasy/adventure titles like Saiyuki and Rurouni Kenshin. Great storylines.
