I think the real news of the story is that ADV Manga has anything new.....
Here's hoping they're on the rebound.
Now, where's my FMP! and my Youtsub&!

Oh, so when can we expect them to finish releasing this particular manga? 2010, maybe? Though I would be willing to buy it, as it probably isn't very long, based on the length of the TV series.

It would be nice for ADV manga to get back on its feet. Never can have too many strong manga companies...

I loved the Sugar anime. It was an uber cute series and one of my favorites. I'll be looking forward to reading the manga when it's released and it'll be interesting to see what the differences between the anime and the manga are. I just hope that ADV doesn't take forever releasing it or more importantly that they actually finish releasing it.

Exactly, why are they STILL Acquiring new stuff, when they like, have a MASSIVE Backlog of stuff not even out yet?
E.G. wasn't UFO Princess Valkyrie licensed over 1.5 years ago, and only released lately?

As much as I want to read Sugar, I just want to know one thing.
When are you releasing Your And My Secret vol. 2 from your clutches, ADV?

Because their backlog wasn't selling well so they're taking their losses and moving forward. They're hoping this title might actually sell as well as Yotbutso and it certainlly looks like it has a nice following.

Dude, I thought I was the only one. I've been complaining about that forever. What makes me mad is that they say it's not doing well but yet they keep restocking it at the stores so somebody's buying it! ADV, please release Volume 2!

Really? They only have one at Waldenbooks. And it's the same one. O_o;
Didn't ADV also release Duck Prince?

No, Duck Prince was released by Central Park Media. That title was such an unusual mix of magic girl cuteness and adult comedy. I wonder if Ai Morinaga will ever get a release finished in America.
Your and My Secret seems to have a large fan base. It's been 2 years now and people are still wishing for that one to continue. I'm still desperately holding onto my copy in hopes of getting the other 2 volumes.
I'll definitely be buying Sugar too! LIke Viz said though, a series sells best while being released with it's DVD component. I hope the sales of Sugar are strong enough to continue the title.

ok i've always wondered: do people actually buy this stuff? i mean i know people talk about how funny and cute this and Bottle Fairy are, but when they're licensed do they actually go out and spend money on them?
i guess the concept's just benign to me, seeing that a lot of this stuff's really made for 5-8 year olds. since it's anime/manga, does that really make it any different from Arthur or any such show?

I can only surmise that Sugar sold well and that's why ADV is excited to bring the manga to the states too. I have three kids so I at least have an excuse for buying and enjoying such a darling show.
But I think Sugar is extremely representative of what attracts a lot of people to the Japanese anime; The writers weren't scared to add a mature situation to the children's show. Though the series is very cute, there's an underlying melancholy as Saga deals with her lonliness.
