Ok, here's the jist of the story from Animenfo:

Quote:
In a winter when he was in the second grade of the high school, Yuichi was hospitalized because of hepatitis. Soon, he became so good as to be scolded by the nurse for going out of the hospital. One day, he happened to meet Rika, a girl of his age, in the next building. He was fascinated by her beauty, but she was very selfish girl. Although she led him by the nose, he began to be attracted by her. However, when Rika told him about her illness, he knew why she acted so selfish; she couldn’t live long.

It's almost your typical romance story though having a setting in the hospital really changes the atmosphere. Considering this going to be a 6 episode TV series (which is seriously the shortest TV episode length I've seen yet), the producers doesn't hold back on the dramatic moments (don't worry it's not TOO emo-ish like say Saikano). There are moments like Yuichi and Rika going off together to the mountains and Rika discovering Yuichi's porn collection, though having the fact that Rika will die makes pretty unnerving. The ED sequence doesn't make it better. Crying or Very sad

I've seen the first 2 episodes of this, and it does seem quite good...almost like "A Walk to Remember: The Anime" Laughing Fans of sad anime like AIR should take note. There's even a fair amount of comedy (especially between Yuuichi and a nurse at the hospital) to keep things light, so far anyway. Hantsuki does seem rather popular, as many fansub groups have jumped on it. I recommend taking a look at the comments on Anidb or somewhere else to distinguish between the good subbers and the speed subbers; I haven't watched episode 3 yet because I'm waiting on one of two groups to release it.

Well, I finished watching all 6 episodes, and given the intensity of the final episode, I'm not spoiling anything! The ending will be a lot more meaningful if people don't get curious with highlighting the spoiler tags. Wink

All I'll say that this is seriously an excellent romance series I've seen in a long time. 6 episodes may seem short, but the story felt complete even though there are some open-ended moments. Plus the story didn't have to drag out with lame fillers so you can get easily get into this. Very Happy

I've looked into this anime before but couldn't find much info on it so I didn't know whether to watch it or not. I liked Air and Kiminozo a lot which are pretty sad so I guess I'll try this out. It's not in the encyclopedia yet?

Well, I watched all of this today. I did like it, but the ending wasn't anything amazing to me as I've seen similar things be done before. Despite that, it was still a very good series that unlike many others, gets down to the point instead of wasting time on filler episodes. I liked it, I'd reccomend it.

Another little gem adpated from light novel. I have yet seen a light novel-turned-anime being poor in quality (RoLW, Slayers, 12K, SutePri, MariMite, Kino, SHANA, FMP, Maoh, Crest/Banner, etc., etc.) Most, if not all, are well above average titles, and many of which are instant classics.

Kind of reminded me a bit of Kiminozo. They're both very sad. The hospital atmosphere seemed similar. Also reminded me of a few renai games I've played. Kanon's kind of similar too.
