In case anyone is dying to know, Raphael is my favorite Ninja Turtle, because he is cool but rude (gimme a break).

Well, okay, the official answer is because he's the turtle with the red headband, and at the time I liked the series when I was a little kid red was my favorite color - so my favoritism automatically transferred over to him. And since then, that has become my bias.

But he's a jerk.
Screw you, I like jerks.

But you tend to hate jerks similar to him.
Screw you, the rest are losers compare to Raphie.

If you were basing it off of personality (however shallow it may be), Donatello or Leonardo would probably be your fave.
Screw you, they've got nothing on Raphie.

MAH SUPAH MATURE PREFERENCES.

Moral of this story? Never underestimate the power or bias that color favoritism provides.

I.E. Green has been my favorite color for over a decade now, and almost all of the green-dressed magical girls/super sentai become my favorites.

Bored, so I guess I'll give this a go.

Name: Mew (Twitter)

Sex: Female (Don't let the nick fool you; it's really old)

Blood Type: Don't know =(

Location: Saitama, Japan (originally from California, USA)

Marital Status: Single

Age: 26 as of this writing

Ethnicity: Vietnamese

Religion: Buddhist, though probably not a very good one

Pets: None

Drink/Smoke: Don't drink, and can't stand the smell of smoke

Likes: Anime, manga, bl, Gunpla. Seiyuu addict

Dislikes: Cigarettes, strong smells (perfume, lotion, hair spray, etc), bugs, anything with tentacles, people who lean on you when sleeping on the train

Favorite anime: Natsume Yuujinchou

Favorite Manga: Natsume Yuujinchou. I also enjoy Kuroshitsuji, Ao no Exorcist, Kuroko no Basket, Ookiku Furikabutte, Kaichou wa Maid Sama!, Shinrei Tantei Yakumo, Yondemasu yo, Azazel san, X/1999, and a handful of bl manga

Favorite Books: Not much of a non-manga book reader but I did enjoy the Harry Potter series. For Japanese novels, I enjoy the Shinrei Tantei Yakumo series, Koto no Ha no Hana (bl), and Jiei x Omi series (bl)

Favorite game: Not a gamer, but I can play Tetris for hours if I start

Favorite TV shows/Movies: Seinfeld, hands down. Currently enjoying Glee.

Favorite Drink: I don't drink

Non-Alcoholic Drink: Water, Mountain Dew

Favorite Foods: Mom's home cookin'

Favorite Sites: ANN, Twitter, Animate, Google News

Favorite Sport (to watch): Hockey, football (NFL, not soccer), baseball

Favorite Sport (to play): I guess baseball

Favorite Music: Classic rock, anime tunes, songs by seiyuu (Kamiya Hiroshi, Ono Daisuke, OLDCODEX, etc)

Job: A non-teaching job in Japan

Hobbies: Watching anime (and picking out seiyuu), reading manga/bl novels, attending seiyuu events, building Gunpla

Fun facts about Mew:
Well, not sure if they'd be considered "fun" but...
- Bit of a tomboy
- Knows Japanese
- Seiyuu obsessed and very informative about male seiyuu
- Attends a seiyuu event almost every week (usually at least two events a month, and there was only one month this year (February) where I didn't attend any)
- Guest Relations staff at FanimeCon

And here are a couple things I'll add in...

Favorite seiyuu: Hatano Wataru, Kamiya Hiroshi, Ono Daisuke

Photos (of my room):
This is when it is actually clean... One of these days I'll make it more tidy and maybe submit some to Shelf Life. These photos were taken about a couple months ago.

Fairly clean, but then again this was a photo just after I had cleaned up.

The autographs near my widow are by Hatano Wataru. (My name is written on them but I've edited them out for the photos.)

Gee... Wonder what my favorite series is. ^_~ This photos was before I put some figures on top of the bookcase, as seen in the photo above.

Can you guess who my favorite seiyuu are? Anime hyper The poster above the Izaya poster in front of my PC monitor is one my treasures. It's signed by Kamiya Hiroshi and Ono Daisuke.

As you can see, the desk is progressively becoming untidy. ^^; Atm it has a large stack of CDs that won't fit in my rack and other junk on it.

I need/want more wall space. If you can't tell already, I love posters and can't stand having white space on my walls.

GokuMew2--
  1. How did you end up moving from California to Japan?
  2. How are you treated? I have read that the Japanese are not, um, particularly tolerant of anyone that they deem to be an outsider.

I like how you specifically point out it's not a teaching job like so many otaku seem to want to do in order to live in Japan. I take it that's a question that you get tired of fielding? I imagine it starts to sound a bit insulting after awhile.

I wouldn't want to teach below university level in any rich country for too long. I find it amazing how teachers manage to deal with the little snotties for so long.

I actually got to Japan via a teaching job, LoL. Did it for a year. Loved the kids but definitely not something I'd like to do for a living. That was my plan though-- Teach for a year and then find something else.

In Japan, they pretty much assume anyone who looks Asian to be Japanese, so I didn't have any trouble fitting in. I guess it helps when you understand the language though. Some of my friends didn't enjoy teaching as much as I did largely due to the language barrier.

No, not really, since I did start off teaching English, but I think most people are under the impression that if you're an American living in Japan then you're probably teaching. Just wanted to quickly get that out of the way. =P There's no doubt that teaching is the easiest route to living in Japan though.

I actually enjoyed my time teaching. I had a couple elementary schools and the kids were great. I only had a couple classes at each school that were kind of a drag, but for the most part I got along with all of them. I used to display Gunpla on my desk and the kids love them, LoL.

But yeah, not something I would like to do long-term.

I always thought you were a dude, GokuMew2. I do envy your ability to attend seiyuu events - that would be awesome.

...

If I give you a love letter, could you pass it on to Rie Kugimiya, please? Wink

I think most people are under that impression. ^^; This nick is very old, from back in my AOL days. Ya know, back in the days when I was a n00b who loved DBZ and Pokemon, LoL.

You could always send it directly to I'm Enterprise. =P (I mainly attend events with male seiyuu...)

LoL, well, I won't/can't deny that. I'm more into canon than slash however, though I do have my exceptions. Wink

But Goku is like one of anime's best heros.
And mewtwo is boss, his intentions understandable but not really childish, with Mew adorable in a kitten fuzed with a fetus kind of way.

To be completly honest I thought you were a guy simply because your avatar seemed to have a girl in it, and I thought that girl would not use such a cute picture of another girl. This does not come accross as creepy does it? It is actually what I honestly thought. Anime smile + sweatdrop

Hence why this was like, the ultimate nick for me at the time, LoL.

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! It's not a girl!! Crying or Very sad It's Kamiya Hiroshi. Ya know, the voice of Natsume, Izaya, Erec sama, Itoshiki Sensei, Araragi kun, Tieria, etc..... T___T

...Perhaps this is a sign that I should change it soon.

Hence I am an idiot. Oh and that is who he plays, I am a big fan of his parts, I always remember him from his "Zetsubou shita", he is usually pretty easy to pick out, but usually fun.

And I just realized that I said a guy was cute.

Damn you anime, this year has made me kind of go for the BL choice or for traps. First it got me with the ecchi, kind of likeing the idol show, then this, they are probably going to end up going furry, remind me not to watch any such shows next year!
