The movies aren't canon. They don't exist as far as the actual story goes, they're just there for entertainment.

Movie 1 can be seen any time after 54, iirc. The others I can't remember, although I think 2 is after 80.

Viz has done a solid job of releasing Inu Yasha movies on dvd to NA. The forth one should be around some time in the near future.

Well as far as episodes are concerned, I can't give you an accurate number. I know the first movie recaps how the crew met and has a stand alone story, I don't believe Naraku is involved at all in this one. So i guess it can be placed right before they meet Naraku.

Movie 2, is obviously before naraku transforms, and even before the Backlash wave, i don't remember it being unleashed. But maybe took place a little bit after they meet Naraku.

Movie 3 also has no signs of Naraku. Inuyasha does have the Backlash wave though so its after Ryokoutse (Don't member how to spell it). But his sword doesn't turn red so it's before he obtains the shield.

it's all about paying attention to the little details. i only own the movies because the series tends to have a lot of dry spells. it just gets boring all of a sudden, so the movies are my favorites. i don't know much about movie 4, just that it was announced in Japan, so I can't help you with that one.

I'd have to watch it again, but I thought Inuyasha's sword did turn red in the second movie, meaning he could already use the barrier breaking ability.

Movie 4 is called Fire on the Mystic Island. It shouldn't be long until it comes out here, unless it takes place after the series, which could result in them delaying it's release until they finish the series. I haven't seen it personally but I heard it's good.

I've really liked all three that are out here now though.

Actually, there's a big continuity goof in the movie that Sesshoumaru doesn't have the Toukijin, but Inuyasha has the backlash wave.

I'm sorry if my information is innaccurate, but I bought all the movies on their respective release dates, and havn't seen them since, so it has been a while. Right now I don't have the time and patience to re-watch them again. This is what I remember and the fact that I don't really like the TV series, as a whole but some parts are really good, my information on most of the other character's attacks is hot or miss. Toukijin, is that the sword the Old Man On The Cows apprentice made for Sesshomaru?

This comes from one of the earlier episodes of InuYasha (before episode 52):

spoiler[Tokijin is the sword made by the rogue swordmaster Kaijinbo.

Although Sesshomaru commissioned Totosai (owner of the e-eyed bovine creature) to craft the sword, Totosai weaseled his way out of that commitment. Sesshomaru went searching for a sword maker who had no problems working for him, so he found Kaijinbo.

It turned out that Kaijinbo studied swordmaking under Totosai, but he proved to be unstable. Kaijinbo's mental instability proved to be his downfall.]

Actually, Inuyasha does have Backlash Wave in movies 1 & 2.
He uses it near the end in both movies & also when he confronts Kagura in the 2nd movie. He also says he wants to use it when he faces the dragon with all those heads (also in the 2nd movie).

Dude or Dudette, I live in Canada too and let me tell you, you must live in a bubble because there is alot of anime up here. Lots of it! Also don't say that you download even if you do. In case you haven't checked, downloading is severely frowned upon on this forum. To be honest that makes Canadians look bad too.

I too have seen the fourth movie. I thought it was much better than the first three and the characters were not distorted as seen in the first three films. The movie is more for entertainment than character exploration, although there is that too.

i meant anime on tv. we dont get as much as americans do and most of it is children based. they need an anime channle.

I may download but i dnt burn or sell anything. Most of what i do download is not licensed, i try really hard to avoid licenced animes. if im going to watch an anime more than once, i buy it. So dont make me sound evil, im really not.
