You know it's going to be like 1 or 2 shows. I could be wrong but I don't expect many gigs.

I don't expect much of anything to be honest but I'm still interested in whatever it is. I highly doubt they have the skill to "invade America." If they do have gigs in America it would be nice having them play at a non-anime related event.

oh and there's a crappy quality version of "The Final" on the record label site http://www.warconent.com/mysql/89.mp3

Well they could do a big tour but I expect them to do something like their european tour with a few shows but they're already getting more Dir En Grey there. They still could have signed with a semi-decent label. Rolling Eyes

Edit:I didn't see that Freewill had a site so I removed a bit about me saying some negative things about them. Smile

What? Freewill? I honestly don't know anything about Warcon Records but from the looks of it I should at least be able to find it at Best Buy hopefully.

Well I couldn't even find Free Will's website or any information about them until I saw the link on the purevolume page. Warcon wasn't at bad but at least had some information on them and a website I could find.

ooh that's what you meant. I'm confused now does it come out March 7th or 28th? All the links say both of them.

I can't even see them playing a convention. It'd be too big and the congoers that would want to go but couldnt fit wherever they'd play would be too great. The only con that could have them is Otakon.

yes if they want to "invade America" that's the only way they can try, play a bunch of festivals. Hopefully their high egos won't get to them.

The problem with Japanese rock in America is that for the most part they only play at cons. That's no way to earn new fans if most of the people there already heard of them.

I posted about this in the other Dir en grey thread here, but oh well, here I go again.

Warcon = record label co-owned by Kevin Lyman and Bob Chiappardi. They started up just last year, and basically have been signing up a bunch of indie bands that are long time Warped Tour vetrans. Warcon isn't close to being a major record label, but they have the ability to easily become one of the biggest indie labels.

Kevin Lyman, co-owner of Warcon records is basically unknown to anyone not too familar with modern music of the last decade, but to people who are, he's the guy who owns one of the biggest, and continuas running tours in the US, the Warped Tour. Warped Tour combines the tiny little garage bands all the way to the biggest people currently in the rock industry of modern music. Last year they had bands like The Offspring, Dropkick Murphys, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, etc. The tour usually consists of about 150 bands, playing 20 minute sets across at least 7 stages. This tour recently has spawned a mini version of itself for winter/spring called Taste of Chaos, which is currently going on now. Dir en grey also has Final on the Taste of Chaos greatest hits cd *I could be wrong on that title* which shows Kevin Lyman may have some plans for the boys.

Since Deg's cd is currently being distro-ed by Warcon, it'd be in Kevin Lyman's best money making intrest to get these guys on one of his tours so they can get some exposure outside of the anime/jrock fans in the US, cause we're a really TINY part of the music market. Course if they decide to go on any of his tours is up to Deg.

P.S. You can find Warcon cd releases at pretty much any music store, cept Walmart. Anyone intrested should check out Opiate for the Masses's The Spore. They've been opening up for Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, and Static X, and are worth a look into. Plus they're sweet guys. Bleed the Dream isn't that bad of a band either.

yes I remember, lol. I don't see them wanting to do a big thing like the Warped tour but the Taste of Chaos thing may suit them since it has a lot less bands performing plus their music is more geared to that kind of music. I've seen Warcon band My American Heart cd at Best Buy before that's why I made that comment.

Last year, Taste of Chaos' first year, had only about 6 bands on the main stage, and two bands on the mini stage. This year it's 18+. Next year you can bet on maybe twice that much. Kevin's got plans to make this seriously a Winter Warped tour. Next year's tour is more than likely what Deg will be on, if any of Kevin's tours. I don't see them surviving more than two days on Warped in the American summer heat, especially if they decide to go with makeup, or their usual fashion trends. That tour is harsh on even the most experienced touring bands.

Their cd comes out next month here, it would be too late if they play next year. It has to be before or during summer that they tour or else there would be no point. Speaking of today's the day where's my updates.
