This should be interesting. I just wonder if they will touch upon the tragedy in the show, or if it has to do with life before March 2011?
I kind of am scared of what the reaction is going to be if they do, but maybe it could have a Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 poignancy if they do it right.

Oh man, this has train wreck written all over it. After the Fractale debacle, didn't he learn his lesson? I thought he said that if Fractale didn't pan out that he'd quit as a director.

Hmm, this could be interesting. There's too little concrete info to become excited over yet though.

lol Lucky Star reunion, I heard he only directed the episodes of Lucky Star that sucked (the first 4).
Yamakan, stop trying to save anime. It is time to save yourself humiliation and give up.

I just love how you guys believe that you can damn a show without knowing jack shit about it.
Oh, wait, I don't, and it makes you people look like overreactionary idiots.
And before you pull the "BUT HE DIRREEECTED FRACTALE!1!1!!1!1elenventyone!" defense, I haven't seen that show so it's irrelevant to me.

Idolmaster + Lucky Star people working on it? This truly does sound like an anime saving production.

From the article:

Avex is billing the anime as a reunion of the Lucky Star staff |
and from Fletcher1991

The first episode was amazingly bad. If the animation production company is promising that, only more so, then suckage is in the works.
Great composer so at least it'll sound good. "Wake Up, Girls!" coupled with the direct involvement of a talent agency and the writer of The Idolm@ster...
I'm guessing a show about the formation of a girl group? That includes the formation of an actual, marketable girl group?

People are using past performance to estimate future results, to borrow the phraseology of investment micetype.

Yes, he made Fractale, which was what I call an interesting train wreck. And he was a bit overly ambitious with the minuscule time frame, however it was still more interesting than a lot of other titles. Plus everyone seems to forget about Kannagi which was a fantastic slice-of-life, really showing his capabilities as a competent director. I can't say I'm super exited for this yet, but I am intrigued.

Yamakan publicly stated he was doing Fractale to "save" anime, and he'd retire if it failed.
>883 volume 1 BD sales
Anyway, this show may be great, who knows, but I'm still going to mock Yamakan mercilessly because he goddamn deserves it.
Hell, has anyone expressed an actual opinion on Wake Up Girls! here other than"well, we'll have to see"?
