I have watched a few episodes of this beautiful anime.
Im a bit scared of the setting. The WW2 architecture and flight combat is kinda cool, but im not really sure if it's for me.
The music so far reminds me of something taken out of a Final Fantasy game.
I don't know if I should continue watching this. Does it get better or more interesting?
Maybe it's just not for me! I just don't want to bypass it, if it is as good as some people say.
I have Escaflowne and Scrapped Princes lying around too, so if Last Exile was not worth it, I could skip it and watch one of does two instead(if they are better?)
thanks.

It's impossible for us to say "This is for you". We can only recommend series we like for random reasons that may not suit you at all. I thought the first episodes of Last Exile were incredible and it went downhill from there (Although overall still far from a bad series), and I'm sure alot of people will say the reverse of my opinion.
Looking at what else you liked, I actually recommend stuff like Kiddy Grade, Bleach and more stuff like that.

My opinion? Oh, yes. It's definitely worth continuing. I don't want to say too much because you haven't mentioned exactly how far in you are. Basically the first half of the series introduces everyone who will help or hinder Claus, Lavie and Al and spends time getting to know them better. The second half deals with the struggle against the Guild's ruler Maestro Delphine who - surprise surprise - turns out to be responsible for everything bad that's been happening to everyone (don't think I'm giving away a deep, dark secret there).
One secondary storyline in particular takes a drastic turn from what we think it's going to be when it first starts and ends up involving the most heartbreaking, tragic friendship I've ever seen in an anime.
If you're the type willing to take the time for the characters to grow on you, you'll care about what happens to them once everything starts hitting the fan near the end of the series and it will be worth it.

its a good series, the ship to ship combat constantly reminded me of Battlefleet Gothic so that may be why I enjoyed it.
the characters are good, the plot is strong the animation is consistently good throughout...its just not outstanding in anything(well animation if thats your style)
so what it does well is take the important parts like plot and characters and does them well throughout, but it doesnt excel in any of them.

It's more of Victorian-era (late 19th century) than WW2 architecture, but that's beside the point. I picked up Last Exile on a whim when they had volumes 1-3 for $20 total at Best Buy, and I'd say it was worth it. You have incredible artwork and design that always has you wondering what they're going to bring out next, and the plot is good enough to back up the pretty pictures. Your other two series are quite good (and Scrapped Princess is my overall favorite series), but if you want my verdict, Last Exile is worth continuing.

I enjoyed the series. It had good artwork, a good soundtrack, good voice acting, and an interesting storyline. I started out really liking the series and then began losing interest during the middle before regaining interest toward the end. The best volumes were the first two and last two. The middle three didn't really do much for me.
Let us know what you think when you're done.

I thought it was a great series when I saw it on Techtv a year or two ago if a little slow at points. I'd definitely recomend finishing it off. I have all of it on DVD myself.

There are many aspects of Last Exile which remind me of the FF franchise. I will agree with you and say that the music is great and reminds me of some of the older FF titles. I also like the airships and will go as far as say the racing scenes reminded me of the Gold Saucer in FF7. If you are a fan of Final Fantasy give Last Exile a try, although Scrapped Princess and Escflowne are also very good for those into fantasy RPGs. On the other hand, you are in trouble if you hate fantasy RPGs.

yes!!! Last Exile is VERY VERY much worth continuing, and those other series you mentioned.....yup, those are excellent as well.
Last Exile just keeps getting better and better as the series goes from ep 1 to ep 26 and is one of the most gorgeous looking and sounding series I have seen in a good while and the story itself is TOP NOTCH.

never seen those other animes. but Last Exile is purely, undeniably AWESOME!!! i found out about this anime over a year ago. then i saw it on tech TV, i was like "whats this?" then i found out the name a few minutes later and i was like "oh so thats the anime that all the websites are making a big deal about" and i started watching it. I was HOOKED. i watched a good chunk of it when it was on the all-day Last Exile marathon on new years day and i loved it. then after spending months and months trying to get money to buy the boxset after i found out it had been released i got a few months ago, cept i had to buy the last dvd separate, but i didn't give a flyin' crap. then i watched the entire series, cause i had only seen less than half of the end of the series. I tell you this....GET IT. if you've only seen the first few eps and love it, you will only get more and more addicted to it as the story unfolds. the battles are amazing, there are an abundance of plot twists and surprises, and...omg just watch it!

Personally, I loved Last Exile. For starters it's gorgeous, but more importantly, it's interesting. The characters are engaging, the story is solid, and the music fits the series perfectly. Since you've already started watching Last Exile, I would absolutely finish it. You won't be disappointed.
