I went by my local Best Buy and they still had a lot of anime. I think I counted something like eight sets of shelves stocked. I can remember when the "anime section" was a mere single set of shelves mostly with DBZ and Sailor Moon. Does your local Best Buy stock a lot less than they used to?

No, local Best Buys here remodeled over the past few months and the anime sections only got bigger. They don't look as packed anymore mainly because the titles are more spread out but I'm fairly certain they have more titles now than they used to.

Mine has been increasing or holding steady; sure, they sometimes clearance-price discs in a series to get rid of them, or just stop carrying series entirely if it doesn't sell well. I imagine Koi Kaze fell victim to this, which is a shame since I might not have bought it if I hadn't seen Vol. 1 + Box at Best Buy. There is still good variety, though much of it is Gundam/GitS/Inuyasha/DBZ and shameless fanservice series.

Well I havn't beren to a best buy in close to over 3 months, stupid Air Force making me go to Kuwait. But I def saw a dwindle in thier selection before I left. I was slightly irratated by the fact that they would lower the selection. I guess just not alot of people like anime in Anchorage Alaska, BAKA BAKA People.

The Best-Buy here kind of expanded the shelves by maybe a couple feet and moved them to better shelves. They were on the shelves they normally have DVDs on, and moved them on the other side of the isle on shelves that fit the boxsets better, shelves they normally put software on.
My Best Buy had like 5 Fullmetal Alchemist vol 6 tins and probably 15 Kino's Journey thinpaks. |

My local Best Buy in Staten Island straight blew up. The section is like 5.5 feet high,10 yards long and 4-5 shelves of anime. It's nuts, my bro and I checked it out and though he's not a Japanese anime fan, he was stunned when he saw the G-Force (Gatchaman or whatever) boxset.

Ours used to be a row (4 sections) and one additional section now it's just a row. Not a large cutback but it's noticable. It's mostly just getting rid of their excess older volumes of DBZ/GT and Inu Yasha DVDs.

I've been to multiple different Best Buys because I've been moving a lot, and I would have to say the selection of anime is definately bigger. And the cool thing is, they were selling the volume 6 of Fullmetal Alchemist with the tin box like 4 or 5 days before it came out, so I was able to get it then
 .... but then sometimes they're like 2 weeks late on a DVD... *sigh*.

It's getting bigger here too but yeah they either get the new anime DVD releases on the shelves early or later but almost never on time. Suncoast gets most of my business on new releases because Best Buy my local Best Buy NEVER had Gantz, Elfen Lied, Cowboy Bebop Remix, or Gunslinger Girl on their respective release dates. Although I remember getting the first Samurai Champloo DVD like 3 days before it's release date. Weird.
But anyway, the shelves are packed with a whole lot more than DBZ, Sailor Moon, and Yu-Gi-Oh (although they are still there) and their prices are always cheaper and the majority costs $20 but Geneon titles are always more expensive for some reason. I was really looking forward to Mermaid Forest and Gonkutsusou but their srp at Best Buy was $29.99. I Don't pay more than $19.99 for a 3 to 4 episode DVD. No matter how good the series is. Suncoast has also blown up here and they even added a huge hentai section, I don't watch Hentai but stores are really going all out now that anime is being considered "main stream". |

My local Best Buy used to stock Peacemaker and Samurai Champloo, now for some reason they no longer have any in stock.
I checked back a couple of weeks, but I guess a requirement to work at Best Buy is to be a complete retard with no social skills or any idea on how to work... So the next place I looked was Sam Goodies as well as Suncoast, both which sell it for $29.95!! |

That's pretty much a requirement for any customer service job. Didn't you know?
Seriously though, I haven't had any trouble finding a title at Best Buy unless it's more than 5 years old, and the employees are always helpful and knowledgable about their department. |

I don't shop at my bust buy anymore unless I can't find a VERY mainstreem title at Suncoast or Media Play.
The two Best Buys close to me have both cut down to the more mainstreem titles. |

I like bestbuy they slash the prices on the older titles all the tim to make room for the newer stuff. That and the have the cheapest price localy for anime. Either best buy or I get i online.

I just joined the air force and leave for BMT(Basic Military Training) december 13. So, I won't be at any best buys for a while either. But anyways back on topic, Here the best buuys near me have been average in it's downsizing and upsizing. Every once in a while it seems there losing items but then suddenly theres new stuff on the shelves putting it back to what it was. What I did notice however is when somethings gone at the best buys...it's gone. I don't think I've ever seen something reappear when it's off the shelf except for maybe one item and that's cowboy bebop but other then that one anime someone buys off all the anime on the shelves I don't expect it to be seen again. |

About the same as I've ever seen it. Though, recently they reorganized so it instead of taking an entire aisle, it takes 3/4 of one aisle, and a fourth of the aisle directly behind.
