Hey all.
Basically, I was looking around my computer and found an old ANN article I kept. animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=7383 It features links to the official sites of two new anime series. I can not read the japanese, but I did like the pretty promotional art. I noticed that these two shows are not featured in the encyclopedia, and submitted them early last week. It occurred to me though, that for these two shows to be in a news article here, but have no encyclopedia entries, there may be something unusual about them. I am hoping someone could inform me as to if these are legitimate TV series planned to air in Japan, and if there is any reason they should not be included in the encyclopedia. ****************** Edit: Still hoping for some info here. |

I've pm'd the Chief Encyclopedist, and recieved no response.
So, after a week with no replies I think its ok to bump this thread. Please reply if you can help with the above question. |

You do realize that if you go to the encyclopedia page of the site, there's a little link right there that says "Add an anime"...

It usually takes them about a month or so to add anime titles(from what I've submitted). Just give them time, they'll get to it.

Well, for one, there's the fact that they haven't aired yet. Once they do, i.e., once we have something real to write about (plot, staff, cast, episode titles) I'm sure they'll be entered in. |

PantsGoblin: I figured it would take time, but that is not what I was asking about. Nagisa: I read the rules, and I still wanted my question answered. I tried pm'ing a staff member and that didn't work out, so I bumped. I won't do it again if you say so, but you can understand my frustration. CorneredAngel: The thing with that is, many series that have not yet aired and have no information have article stubs in the encyclopedia, so as I said, I wondered why these didn't. |

Thankyou for the first reply to my question tempest.
Obviously, it is a lot of work to verify all those encyclopedia entries, which could explain why two new anime may not have been entered yet. Generally though, any anime I hear about (especially from this site) is already listed when I check the encyclopedia, and I was surprised to find that after that article was posted in september, they were not yet added. Please note I was not asking why my submission was not yet entered, but why these shows weren't submitted before I did. If someone knows something about these shows specifically, I would still like to know. |

Generally I try to add anime as soon as I write about them. SOmetimes though I don't have the time.
The news article in question was written by another ANN staff member (probably Zac) while I was on vacation. Since they still have their own responsabilities to take care of while I'm away, they can't be expected to cover as many bases as I do. -t |

And out of all that long list only two of them I want to know about...vampire hunter d (manga?) and the tokyo babylon live action movie...interesting if I do say so myself.
But that sure is a long list...wish I could help but I doubt I would be of any use. |

Thanks again tempest. I believe I understand the situation now.
The article was written by one of the staff members, who didn't happen to submit those new shows to the encyclopedia. Since then they have not started airing and there has (assumedly) been no new information, so they never came up again. I'm not meaning to complain, rather I was just interested. For now I'd like to say thankyou to all the staff of ANN for making it such a wonderful resource for anime fans like myself. |
