I've never had the opportunity to go to an anime convention. Don't know if that's a bad thing though....certain kinds of fandom give me ulcers .

I've never been to an anime con. I'd love to do it someday, just to see what it's like, but I've got a few miles on me (mature but still a ways from decrepit) and I'm not sure hangin' with the tweenyboppers would be particularly well received. Standing out as the old fart in a sea of young'uns could be pretty uncomfortable.

I have never been to a con before. While I am not apposed to the idea, I still am not too excited to wait in the long lines. That and most of the cons around me are usually on or during holidays that I travel to visit family.

At one point I was doing close to or over 10 a year, but now it's usually closer to five although this year is looking like more events again.
This year's cons:
Kawaiikon
Tokyo Anime Fair (does this count?)
Anime Contents Ex[p
Sakurathon
MCM Expo (London, UK)
Anime Expo
Japan Expo (Paris, FR - not 100% certain)
Otakon
New York Anime Fair / Comic Con
I might also go to Otakuthon in Montreal since it's 5 minutes from my house. Depends on whether I'm in Town or not. I might also go to summer Comiket again.
Other cons I've been to over the years:
Anime Central
Nan Desu Kan
Anime North
CN Anime
Fanime
Katsukon
Anime Boston
I'd really like to go Anime Festival Asia in Singapore and Salon Del Manga in Barcelona.

Generally I hit up 2 cons a year. I almost always make my way to Otakon since it's right in my state. It's always a fun time and since it's second only to AX in size there's always tons of stuff to do and see. Generally I split my time between Nekocon in VA and Katsucon in DC (used to be VA too). I'll go to one of them one year and the other the next. Haven't made it to either the past 2 years though due to financial restraints. Had to limit myself to Otakon.

I would never buy flight tickets to attend a con lol, thats ridiculous. Here in Toronto I am fortunate enough that they host anime north each year at the end of May so I attend sometimes. This year will be my 3rd in a row, but b4 that I went every other year

I only go to one con per year (Anime Expo), which is due to the following factors:
1. Lack of time: I'm a college student, so free time is sparse and is limited to only a couple of months per year)
2. Lack of money: Again, I'm a college student (we tend not to have money). Additionally, between AX and making Anime-related product purchases, I don't have the funds to attend other conventions.

I have gone to one convention per year since 2006, although they have varied. The last couple years have been about funding, and also lack of people to go with. I find it much better to go with somebody than by myself.
2006 - AX (went by myself, commuted)
2007 - AX (went with friends, stayed in hotel)
2008 - AX (went with friends, commuted)
2009 - AX (went with friends, commuted)
2010 - AX (went by myself, commuted)
2011 - AM2 (went by myself, commuted)
2012 - AM2 (went by myself, commuted)
2013 - PMX (went with friends, commuted)
I am hoping to return to AX this year after a four year hiatus, and also hope to return for a second consecutive year to PMX.
