I´m thinking about possibly picking up this title but I´m scared about the ending and I´m just wondering what people thought about it. Considering I don´t have many ¨Romance¨ titles besides Chobits and Colorful, I´d like to add something new and different, yet good to my collection. The Colorful thing was a joke.

Well, I don't want to spoil you the ending, you just have to watch that serie, I think it's definitely one of the best "romance" series and definitely better than new-generation romances. Old-fashioned visuals and topics make this title very special, also get the un-cut version (i think that in Nort America there existed 2 versions of it -_-).
I absolutely recomend it, anyway, it's just my opinion. ps: sorry for my english, it's my second language. |

Joel, why exactly didn't you like Colorful? I only ask because it could have some bearing on how you would perceive Sakura Diaries. Shooting from the hip here, if fanservice is something you don't mind, Sakura Diaries is, in my opinion, a wothwhile watch. Especially if you haven't seen much romance titles to boot. As far as the ending goes, spoiler[not every i is dotted and t is crossed, as far as the relationships we are made to follow throughout the series are concerned.(I thought it was open to interpretation, though)] I bought the edited Engish-dubbed version awhile back, but liked it enough to have bought the newly re-dubbed, (English-wise),unedited version ADV just released. Now would be a good time to collect this title as you will save 50% of the space and money I initially had to fork out.

It's been a while since I saw Sakura Diaries, but I do remember that I did thoroughly enjoy it. I seem to recall that I had a minor issue with how things turned out, but for the most part it was ok.
I have come to the conslusion that most anime, especially romantic type anime never have a full consclusion with all the issues resolved, and everyone stating exactly how they feel. I have come to accept it... ...but it still bugs me. |

Yeah its a fun series, but it doesn't have a good quality ending by any means. Alot is left in the air. If you need finality in your shows you won't get it here.

I just happened across this on sale at the ADV website:
http://www.advfilms.com/sales.asp Sakura Diaries Vol 1,3, and 4 are just $5.00 a piece. If you're interested in buying this set at all, now's the time. |

I never said i didn´t like Colorful i said it was a joke that I called it a romantic anime series. I liked Colorful because it was hilarious and the characters reminded me of my friends so it was even more funny renaming all the characters with my friends counterparts when i saw it with all of them. Don´t know if that makes sense but well yeah I did like Colorful. I don´t mind fan service in my anime I just hate sex scenes that are sort of like hentai. Nudity is alright, graphic sex is not because I dont want friends, specially my girlfriend, and family walking in and getting the bad idea. Ninja Scroll is a big example. I was watching it and the scene where the boss guy is having sex with some slave at the begining made my parents think i was watching porn and they told my uncle i was watching anime porn, hentai, and then that creepy bastard asked me to borrow it. Anyway I think I am going to pick it up then. I liked Chobits in the way that it was a love story and it could take itself serious and joke around once in a while and I hope I can enjoy this anime too. |
