I guess you could say that this is a good and bad thing. The good news being that we won't see rushed novel material while the bad is god knows how long we'll have to wait to see the remaining 10 novels animated.

Well, I guess I'm interested in this as I am a fan of the Toaru Majutsu no Index series. And oh yes, Index definitely deserves more screen time so kudos there :>

That sucks, I was hoping this movie would be adapting the Battle Royal arc. I can't see this movie being anything but filler.

not filler if it's kamachi written. kinda like how Strong World was for One Piece.

hmm he'll probably tie it into the main storyline. could be interesting.

Hmm, not sure if a single movie would cover all that material and if so, would be rushed. I'm hoping they make a season 3 soon of the Battle Royal and World War III arc tbh.

Awesome. I'm glad it's not a retelling like just about every other anime movie these days. I hope to see it when I'm staying over in Japan.

People, there probably will be a 3rd season, so don't fret about not seeing the battle royale or world war III. All in due time. (I'm looking forward to it too, but there's no way they'd move ahead the canon plot in a movie).

Of course it would! One volume wouldn't take more than 4 or 5 episodes, it could easily be a movie

Hm, I thought I heard about this somewhere before, but now its offical!

I honestly can't wait, I've always been a sucker for anime movies and to see this as brand new material staight from the author warms my heart! I makes me wish I could get to japan to see it on the bigscreen, but then again, I can't speak or understand japanese without subs so.... here's to hoping funi gets it and brings it here(after taking care of the first two seasons of course Anime hyper)

When discussing the anime adaptations of Dengeki Bunko works, Miki had revealed in January that "Index will have more happening this year. Please look forward to it. We still cannot say anything about Railgun [Toaru Kagaku no Railgun/A Certain Scientific Railgun]."

I'm sincerely hoping that means we'll see a Season 03 of Index. I'm already stalking FUNi's website for any scrap of news on their release, and am picking up Railgun's manga as fast as I can.

Even if I personally think it's too overloaded with fanservicy girls, the overarching themes, story and likeable, compelling cast far outweighs my gripes. Absolutely owning this series.

As for the movie: Based off this, I'm hoping for the possibility of an "alternate universe/what if" scenario, wherein main characters can die, turn evil, play different roles, etc.

Loved the last series, although at the end it seemed like it began to meander a bit. hopefully this story is just as good as the beginning of the anime series / light novels :3

I like the world the author has created with index and railgun. I would be happy to watch and collect anything in this anime run and hope funimation gets it together and releases season one of index at some point soon anounces season two and picks up the movie and railgun ova as well as the second season of index!

I know with the long wait for index and railgun seeing as the railgun manga has reached almost volume four and states on the back enjoy the anime that has never been released to viewing in the states yet its a neat marketing trick.

I am a big fan and would love to read the light novels.
