This is so beast, Yotsuba's my favorite Manga! And Cardbo/Danbo with guns, that is to cool! ( I just hope he doesn't appear in the manga with weapons that powerful lol) But this is cool!

Want want want want want. My five Danbos covet weaponry as well, to keep the cat at bay. I'm enjoying that porcupine Danbo... far too much.

I'm a big kotobukiya fan but I dont know what they are thinking.
I would dare say 80% of danbo's fame comes from women.
and most women do not buy figures with guns.

Even if those statistics are entirely accurate, you still have 20% that are male contributed to the "fame" of Danbo, but also women that would buy this figure particularly because this strays away from "normal" figures.
I have an idea what Kotobukiya is "thinking" and that "thought" process is trying to appeal to male demographic of Yotsuba! Smart move actually.

Also note that, per the article, this is a model, not a straight-up Danbo figure. The number of women I know that assemble models... zero. Danbo may (or may not) be a chick thing, but models are predominantly a manly pursuit. Moreover, the bad-azz weaponry is not packaged with the model. The model is customized to accept products from two existing accessory lines that I've taken a sudden interest in. The model could just as readily be assembled and never act on its potential as a fearsome war machine.
Yes, Danbo is a gentle, innocent being generally photographed in charming poses in nature settings or playfully interacting with household items. Kotobukiya is facilitating Danbo's yearning to cosplay, the plastic equivalent of small children running around with cardboard shuriken and pretending to be ninja. It's just that the cardboard shuriken have been replaced with highly detailed automatic arm cannons. No harm in that.

A question is whether it is in character for Miura (the girl inside Danbo) to be toting replica guns. I don't have an answer: she is a complex girl. And I wonder what Azuma thinks. of this

I don't get those sentence. Do they mean the eyes do not actually light up, but appear to light up by a coloured piece of plastic being mechanically slid into place or something, maybe?

The impression I get is that it has colored plastic eyes, and a fake switch.
