So it's held by Japanese foreign ministry. No wonder Taiwan is not included.
Two reporters from Hong Kong is unnecessary, for avid HK fans know way better than average reporters. The average quality of HK fandom is on par with, if not better than, average Taiwanese fandom, so they don't need reporters to tell them what to follow. They should reserve a space for a Singaporean or a Vietnamese reporter.
I also worry for the personal safety of any Singaporean in a room filled with otaku.

I, the Japanese foreign ministry, have decided to allow ten Asian reporters - just ten, mind you, and no more - to visit my Japanese cartoon factory this year. These lucky five times two will be shown around personally by me, and they will be allowed to see all the secrets and the magic of my Japanese cartoon factory. Then, at the end of the tour, as a special present, all of them will be given enough Japanese cartoons and cartoon-related accessories to last them for the rest of their lives!
Golden Tickets not available in Taiwan.

Yah, but you know, they're, like... Asian... and stuff. So that doesn't count.
You know you're only a real English-speaker if you're white and British.

Yes, I'm kidding.
No, it shouldn't be necessary to say so.
Yes, I think it is.
No, I don't trust people to recognise sarcasm when they see it.
No, I wasn't being sarcastic when I excluded Americans from the ranks of English-speakers. That bit was serious.
