Ok.. Ok.. enough! I know G4 isn't the best brodcaster of Anime .. but it is still anime on tv...

The facts!: Anime Unleashed went to the gutter when tech mergered w/G4.

The problems: First and formost its has to be the ads... three each episode and they last a go 2-4 mins some times.
Second and to me last... they rerun THEIR show.. over and over... its...well annoying.. (I do like Gungrave thou)

The suggestions: one Ad per episode. air a show once then.. then rerun it much later. rerun techtv's old shows. let it be two hours long.

well... that all i'm going to say about that...oh but with techtv's shows getting rerun... they'll show last Exile on Aug 9th ..so hoping they'll show the rest of TechTv's stuff... Dual, boggiepop, lain, soultaker, and the crest/banner of the stars are some there best... next to Last Exile...

Unfortunately, the chance of G$ listening to anyone other than their marketing people about what/how to run their shows is equivalent to pigs simultaneously flying out of ten people's derrieres- who all incidentally happen to be wearing clown suits, be soaking wet, and holding a lighter a foot above their head while singing "Singing in the Rain" off-key.

It's a shame too, because TechTV was one of my favorite channels before they were bought out (yes they maintain it was a merger, but...)

At least they didn't completely phased out Anime Unleashed, as they could have done. Unfortunately, with the fact they aren't showing much good there it doesn't really matter.

AU remains one the few shows they haven't screwed over yet it seems, thogh they need to rerun some of their older aquisitions instead of broadcasting ROD the TV and Gungrave to death. Rolling Eyes

One ad per show!? That is just asking too friggn' much. Heck, AS/CN run around 6-8 ads per show and they have to ad support to do it. G4 is has too small of a viewer base, even during prime time, to make that big of a cut in ads. Yeah, that ad count at late night is a bit much, but it's something that your going to have to deal with.

Keep in mind that Techtv said in an interview the reason of AU ads is because of the demands and TTV was a small cable station and they needed the ad revenue. At least they have a reason.

G4 on the other hand is a marketing whore. First day of the merger you can see the product placement flow like water. The way G4 work is like this, AU is working well let leave it like that. Which is a shame because AU can be as annoying as 4KidsTV. Because for a interesting anime shoe like AU they have a lot of stuff that really annoying like too much ads and 2 episode per day. The last one kills an anime rather quick.

They never got the third series. I don't think G4 cares about shows of the Sekai saga's type; they're more for immediate action and simple-minded comedy than anything based on dialogue or character development or using your brain. Hence the reason stuff like Sekai, Boogiepop, & Lain haven't been seeing the light of day since the end of TechTV.

That is one of the more annoying things that I miss from the TechTV days.

TechTV, when AU started, had a pretty good handful of shows that they rotated over time. Even though it got repetitive around the third time around, I still watched it because I hadn't seen it in a while, and I could drown it out any time.

G$, on the other hand, seems to lack the idea of variety in the schedule. Gungrave's been rotating for a month or so now, and it's ridiculous.

I always though they should give 5 different series at once, one for each night of the week. That way they could give alot of new episodes, but for each series it would only be weekly, that way they wouldn't end so quickly, meaning less reruns.

They completed six good shows already including Gungrave. It's just repeats now. Probably going to last for 2 months and then they'll show repeats of another show. For example, R.O.D. The next show that is probably going to air on AU is Soul Taker. They only showed 8 of the 13 episodes. I was just getting interested in it too. Does Soul Taker have a sequel?

No, it has a spin-off series called "Nurse Witch Komugi", a completely different series that's a parody of fanservice-magical-girl shows. Actually a pretty fun show if you enjoy that kind of thing.

I'm sure he meant one block of ads. Like AS has plunked right in the middle of their segment.

Even one block is too small for the small network. Heck, the only the only keeping it a float is late night infomercials and Girls Gone Wild ads.
