Well, Spike TV is being marketed as a Male ONLY network (kinda like how Lifetime is marketed just for women) and promises to be full of action and testosterone. Judging what the WWE can get away with on live television (followed by CSI) I'm sure any animation cuts they make will be more for time and certain words than animation content. Judging from what they're initial lineup I'd say any anime is safe with them: http://www.thenewtnn.com/shows/animation/

Stripperella
I'm predicting that Ren & Stimpy will do well (assuming they can even get the word out that it's on...that channel is rather notorious for having sucky programming). The rest....blah. I can only pray that it goes away quickly. |

I don't know, I think Stan Lee can make Stripperella work. He's a fantastic writer, one of the founding fathers of modern comic books, I think this series is going to be a bit more intelligent than the title would lead you to believe. I'm looking most forward to Gary the Rat though. Kelsey Grammer is a big name in prime time sitcoms, I doubt he'd sign on to do just any cartoon unless he found it up to his standards, I'm sure he gets a lot of TV proposals. But casting aside the premise sounds good for the show. As for Ren and Stimpy, I've never been much of a fan so I'll give a chance, but won't be going out of my way to catch it.

I have decently high hopes for it. Also the thing with TNN having bad programing, its not that all the shows they show are bad, but the fact that TNN's only good shows are old like Highlander, and Star Trek TNG. I can only pray that this will be their first block of good original programing.

Stan Lee is a fantastic writer like the Model T Ford is a fantastic car. Brilliant and groundbreaking once, but a museum piece today.

I still get the giggles when I hear Stripperella.
Well, this would be the 4 cable network (Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, TechTV, and now TNN (I'm pretty sure I might be missing one) jumping on the late nite adult animation block, times sure has changed. Now, if they leave the anime uncut (Nice try TTV). |

I don't think even Stan Lee can save a Pamela Anderson bomb of a show. Then again, it's totally aimed at the testosterone-filled male. It'll be as popular as stupid Baywatch.
I'll give Gary the Rat the benefit of the doubt, but I still don't think it'll be anything amazing. |

Well, I don't know about the rest of you guys, but, anime or no anime, I'm personally very excited about this adult animation block, since it's finally an adult animation block ON A CHANNEL WE CAN WATCH IN CANADA! Yes, no waiting to see whether Teletoon or YTV will pick up these shows for their late night slots for a bloody change.

I believe Striperella has already been canceled (but this is not be highly publicized to say the least), but they will air the six episodes produced.
I must admit a great deal of skepticism on this as I never liked TNN and I think the new name is bafflingly stupid. If they air some good anime, then I will watch that. Otherwise, I am more than content with Cartoon Network (and hopeful that Williams Street will eventually be able to re-negotiate the editting standards with the Turner BS&P). |

Hmm... Spike Lee has won his legal battle to prevent TNN from changing its name to Spike TV.
Yeah, because, obviously, we all associate the perfectly common English word "spike" with Mr. Lee. Also, Cowboy Bebop, Transformers and Degrassi will have to change the names of certain characters, and I can no longer "spike" my Tropicana Homestyle orange juice with Absolut Mandrin vodka. EDIT: Also, Stan Lee, Marvel comics founder and one of the creators of Stripperella, will have to change his last name from "Lee" to something else, since his surname is obviously a subtle jab at Spike Lee. |

I suppose they might have to come up with something stupider now.

You've got to be kidding--Spike Lee *won*? I thought for sure that he didn't have a chance, since it's so stupid to think that anyone would mix up Spike TV with him. Now, I guess the people behind Rugrats will have to sue, since there is a dog named Spike in the show, & the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer will have to sue, since one of the vampires is named Spike, filmmaker Spike Jonze will have to sue, & so will the Cowboy Bebop people. Okay, I'm just being sarcastic, but come on! He actually won?!!

The next time you 'spike' a volleyball, you may have to pay 50 cents to the "Wasn't he the Director Malcome in the Middle, or was it Malcome X?" *Makes note of his 22nd really bad Spike Lee pun.* Atleast Spike Jones sings better then Spike Lee.

He hasn't won yet. All he's done is present the court with a pettition basicly saying the first thing the signees think of when they hear the word "spike" is Spike Lee. The courts told him that in order to go through with the trial he'd have to put of $500,000 that would go to Viacom should they win the trial.
