In the last week, I watched two assassin animes: Golgo 13 and Crying Freeman and I want to know if another assassin animes are the same because they were similar in some ways.

Mezzo DSA?? I've only seen the first episode and that's the only thing that pops into mind other than all the samurai anime where assassins appear regularly.

Noir would be obvious.
![]() Another title that would fit the request is Phantom - The Animation. And if you have nothing against older shows, try City Hunter. |

Madlax is like Noir and so is Najica.

But City Hunter is different in that he's not a killer so much as a gun for hire as a bodyguard generally. Would Gunslinger Girl count? Can't say I've seen it, but it's about assassins, yah? |

Gunslinger Girl might count, as the girls are assassins although the anime doesn't revolve around that so much as the drama and morality of their situation. Generally I assume someone looking for anime's based on assassins are going to look for action, and although GSG has well done action at times it generally doesn't have a significant amount of it and may ultimately bore someone who's looking for that specifically. |

I was thinking that gun for hire could count as assasin. And for what I have seen of it I would agree about GSG. ![]() Last edited by Ialdaboth on Mon Jun 27, 2005 10:31 am; edited 1 time in total |

He's more like a private detective than a hitman, I don't think calling him a gun for hire really does him justice. Emerje |

Yes, but his detective-ness generally gives way to dramatic shootouts and big mallet comedy. So I think gun for hire has an element of accuracy. |

True, but he's rarely actually hired as a gun, they just come with the job. Emerje |

I'd second Noir it's excellent and now available in thinpack collection for about $50 at Best Buy. Madlax is also very good so far.

Kite, would be a decent choice...though a bit pornographic.
And Samurai X could fall under assassins because...well... kenshin is an assassin. |
