My heart always jumps when I read "Evangelion" in an ANN article title.
And then it's always soup or energy drinks or whatever |

Now a bunch of creepy otaku are going to drink this tomato broth ramen and pretend it's Asuka's menstrual fluids

Ewww, no. Asuka's menstral fluids are obviously more of a mouth wash. |

If you whore it, they will come.
(Sexual innuendo not intended, but in this case.......I wouldn't be surprised if it was intended.) |

880 Yen or $11.40 in USD? Isn't that a bit much for just ramen? Or is this how it always is in Japan?

You could pretend those are Rei clones' disembodied parts in a cauldron.

Am I the only person who gagged at "tomato ramen?" Sounds dreadful.
Now, I love tomato soup. I love ramen, but together they sound like something only to be eaten on a dare (and with a bathroom or garbage can nearby). Blegh! |

I have a feeling this is a troll from Studio Khara and at some point Asuka will be chopped up and shredded and look like Tomato Ramen.
I've come to expect the worst so that my heart doesn't shatter later. |

I don't see why everyone is so disgusted by this. Is it really all that different than if they made Eva themed drinks and dyed them white or red? Don't over-analyze this into something that it's not.
I would personally love to try both of those flavors.
That is pretty average for ramen, if you ask me. Most ramen shops that I went to in Japan, though this was a couple years ago, cost about 8 USD. Even back here in the US that's a pretty average price. So, once you stamp the Evangelion name on it there's room to charge more because people will undoubtedly shell out more for anything Eva ... myself include |

Hey, everyone. I'm sorry to bother you but I'm looking for something and I was wondering if any of you have seen it.
Has anyone seen Evangelion's dignity around recently? I turned my head for just a few seconds and it disappeared on me... |

Why do you hope to see dignity outside the work itself for something as popular as Evangelion? |

Just when I thought there were no more Neon Genesis Evangelion products that they could come up with, this happens. Oh, what an innocent person I am.

That's the extreme end of Taiyo no Tomato-men's menu. Their cheapest ramen is their chicken ramen, http://www.foodict.com/menu.php?msh_id=c00056&tmn_id=7775, at 580 yen, but their Taiyo's Vongole-men, http://www.foodict.com/menu.php?msh_id=c00056&tmn_id=2027, is 880 yen. But as Leon said, spending USD$8 on ramen would be average, and that would still be considered cheap eats, especially in a big city like Tokyo. |
