Yoko NAGASHIMA (長嶋 陽子) is 1-2 persons with identical kanji name plus one contribution error:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
長嶋 陽子 = Youko NAGASHIMA (background artist)
(2 ENAMDICT readings for 長嶋 = Nagashima, Osashima; ANN has 7 長嶋 persons, all "Nagashima")
(8 ENAMDICT readings for 陽子 including Youko but not Yoko; ANN has ca. 70 陽子 persons, all "Yo[u]ko")
長嶋 陽子 (1980) Hoero! Bun Bun (movie) : Background Art (madhouse)
長嶋 陽子 (1985) Yume no Hoshi no Button Nose (TV) : Background Art (Playtown)
長嶋 陽子 (1986) Barefoot Gen 2 (movie) : Background Art (madhouse)
長嶋 陽子 (1987) Wicked City (movie) : Background Art (inutori bekkan)
長嶋 陽子 (1987) (The) Phoenix: Chapter of Yamato (OAV) : Background Art (inutori bekkan)
長嶋 陽子 (1988) Bride of Deimos (OAV) : Art Director (lain)
長嶋 陽子 (1989) Kiki's Delivery Service (movie) : Background Art (ghibli-freak.net)
(keep) This may be the current owner of this entry.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
長嶋 陽子 = Youko NAGASHIMA (animator)
(same kanji name as above)
長嶋 陽子 (1987) Lupin III: The Fuma Conspiracy (movie) : In-Between Animation (Livedoor Wiki)
________ (1988) Akira (movie) : In-Between Animation (no source)
________ (1989) Little Nemo - Adventures in Slumberland (movie) : Animation (IMDB)
長嶋 陽子 (1991) Only Yesterday (movie) : In-Between Animation (ghibli-freak.net)
長嶋 陽子 (1992) Porco Rosso (movie) : In-Between Animation (SF Movie Databank)
長嶋 陽子 (1993) Ocean Waves (special) : In-Between Animation (atwiki)
長嶋 陽子 (1994) Pom Poko (movie) : Inbetween / Clean-up Animation (ghibli-freak.net)
長嶋 陽子 (1995) Whisper of the Heart (movie) : Inbetween / Clean-up Animation (JMDB)

長嶋 陽子 (1997) Vampire Princess Miyu (TV) : Key Animation (ep 7) (Shirayuki)

長嶋 陽子 (2009) Hayate the Combat Butler!! (TV) : Key Animation (Livedoor Wiki)
長嶋 陽子 (2010) Pokémon: Black and White (TV) : Key Animation (Livedoor Wiki)
(optimistic split) This may well be a different person according to the different field of activities (would an Art Director in 1988 still do In-Between Animation up to 1997?). Then again, "both" have been working on Ghibli projects... The gap of 8 years might have been filled with Doraemon work, or indicate these are even more than one person...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Cast credit:
永島 由子 (2000) Ceres, Celestial Legend (TV) as Guradisu (Wikipedia)
(purge is done) This is a reading error for the (already contributed) role "Gladys Smithson by NAGASHIMA Yuko".
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One wrong cast credit flagged.
Please hide the wrong cast credit. (EDIT: Done, see posting below.)

Afterwards, this might become an "optimistic split" request, including a renaming of both entries to "Yōko".

I'm almost certain "art director" refers to background art, not to animation so it is consistent as you have it split.

Im not aware of anyone who does both background art and animation although it isn't impossible (while the tools and skillsets are different there are plenty of animators who are artists, which includes drawing backgrounds for their own art).

Actually, Jan Scott-Frazier has done both, including on the same series, twice. Which isn't to say that this is common.

More mis-assigned credits for Yoko NAGASHIMA:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Non-anime roles:
Tina in "Dead or Alive 2" (VG) no source
Tina in "Dead or Alive 3" (VG) no source
Tina in "Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball" (VG) no source
(purge) These belong to NAGASHIMA Yuko as well, as shown on her Wikipedia page.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 credits flagged; these credits have also been given to NAGASHIMA Yuko already.
Please hide these cast credits.

I had these on my list already when I was disconnected from ANN due to the proxy issue right in the middle of creating this thread.

I really wasn't sure about this one, but considering how unlikely it would be that someone starts their career as background artist (1980-1989) and then switch to animator (1987-2011), I'm going to optimistically
split: background artist / animator
