I'm almost certain "art director" refers to background art, not to animation so it is consistent as you have it split.
Im not aware of anyone who does both background art and animation although it isn't impossible (while the tools and skillsets are different there are plenty of animators who are artists, which includes drawing backgrounds for their own art). |

Actually, Jan Scott-Frazier has done both, including on the same series, twice. Which isn't to say that this is common. |

Please hide these cast credits. I had these on my list already when I was disconnected from ANN due to the proxy issue right in the middle of creating this thread. |

I really wasn't sure about this one, but considering how unlikely it would be that someone starts their career as background artist (1980-1989) and then switch to animator (1987-2011), I'm going to optimistically
