So I take it you were just laughing over "unexpectedness"? I do look forward to it too, because it is such a minor sport...I don't think some people actually consider it a sport.

Well, they have comics about anything and everything in Japan. I'm more of a racketball person myself, so let me know if you find any racketball manga.

What was so funny? Anyway, badminton is pretty fun. Played it in Co-ed last year.

Speaking as someone who has played badminton for years I can tell you it is far from being a "minor" sport. Just because few people play it US doesen't it's not a sport. People who think that are just ignorant. It's very popular in other parts of the world. Back to the subject, this manga looks very interesting and I hope it gets licensed. |

Sweet! I love badminton. Used to play it at a friends house when I was younger, then we moved, but I always rocked my classmates when we played it in PE during my high school years. I wonder what the manga's like.

I have also played badminton for years, as you say, but not everyone realizes what it is. I really don't speak for myself, just for the minute minority somewhere. |

Yeah, I understand that. I wasn't talking about you but rather those "other" people. Last edited by Proman on Wed Mar 23, 2005 4:50 pm; edited 2 times in total |

Yamato no hane ~ badminton story can now be found in the Encyclopedia.
I'm not much of a sports manga enthusiast (the notable exception, of course, being Yawara!), but I'll admit this looks pretty interesting. Maybe I'll add the first tankoubon to my next order from Amazon Japan. - abunai |

HA! Too cool. As a badminton player, I'd be curious to check this out.

Even though I suck really bad at badminton (I usually bruise my wrist. Tennis is more my forte.), it'll be cool to see this released. Birdies can hurt as much as speeding tennis balls from my experience. ;;

How far have you read in Yawara? I recently finished the first volume and loved it, but I'm afraid it's going to quickly go downhill as many shonen stories often do. I've never played Badmiton (hardley ever heard of it), but it doesn't really suprise me, with things like golf manga being popular. |

Now, Golf manga...that's just silly. |

Nah...a manga about bowling with finishing moves would be much sillier than badminton and golf combined.
Oh, wait... http://www.akaneshinsha.co.jp/akane/bk/index.html Apparently the number one manga...in Taiwan! |
