Good for them. This might actually help them break into the coveted Best Animated Film slot, too.

OMG, I adore that novel~~ it's almost like Watership Down meets Middle Earth only with cats instead of rabbits, it's awesome~~

I LOVE that novel. It's simply amazing! So fantastical and rich. I hope this goes well! I really wondered what the novel would be like animated.

Y'know what would be better? They should turn those into catgirls! Otaku would lap them up!
Seriously, what's with IDA and cats, if not the title, the characters............

Oh, I've seen the first episode. I more or less was wondering how Tailchaser's Song itself would do in animated form. The cat culture is so in-depth; everything from their stories, to their words, to their religion. While it's obvious it can't all be worked in, I really just want the film to remain true to that feel.

When I read this I immediately picked up the phone and called my Wife as this was a book we read together and both loved. Perhaps if this is a success we can get Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn made into a series.
Of course, the one problem with all of Tad Williams books is the one strange "off the rails" chapter that they seem to all have. In Tailchases Song it is the bizzare encounter with the underground demon cat thing. I hope they handle it well.
