Not bad, if you don't mind waiting a year or better between releases. Fortunately, issue two is due out this month. I put in a special order via Hastings for issue #2 just last Thursday as a matter of fact. My only fear is that the original characters have aged, moved on, or died, and we'll be stuck with a whole new cast.....; just kidding; the excessive wait has worn on my nerves. This poor title got lost somewhere and fell off the radar. Confused

As for the story line itself, I found it quite intrigueing; spoiler[secret organization takes physically handicapped kids (only girls so far, thus the title) brainwashes them, upgrades their bodies with cybernectic implants and replacements, then uses them as assassins to carry out dirty work for the French government: ]talk about your affrimative action in regards to hireing the handicapped!

spoiler[Not to mention that the brainwashing they go through causes them to develope unhealthy fixation on their "handlers" ]ensureing nothing but problems for all involved. This is complicated by a mix of handlers that can't decide how nice to treat their charge (thus feel guilty about the whole fix'm up and use'm agenda) to those handlers that think of the girls as nothing but tools and use them till they wear out; spoiler[and get themselves killed in the process because their "girl" goes balistic over the lack love and affection.] Cool huh. Cool

The arts good, the story line unique, so this one gets a "thumbs-up" from me. Even with the exhaustingly long wait between issues............... Rolling Eyes

Ah, poor North American. Volume 4 featuring Claes on the cover (along with the specialized butt for 3-round bursts of her signature sidearm: H&K VP70M) will be in my possesion in three weeks. Twisted Evil

ITALIAN.

It is, but I have a strange feeling that the lines are way too clean -- almost like anime-manga (manga composed of anime screenshots e.g. Miyazaki's movies). Anyone knows if Yu AIDA is a CG-based manga-ka like Toshiki YUI?

I........, have to hate you now Anime cry . But ignore it, it's just plain, unmitigated jealousy talking.

Really!! You sure?! Hmmnnn, I'll have to go re-re-re-re-read my copy. Felt like the French to me. Must have been the names. Confused

Ah, but I really like that crisp, clean, style. I'm reading RAhXePhON also, and it's art style is fairly similar. I guess an example of my least favorite art style would be Angelic Layer, it just bugs me. Ah well, that's me. Smile

So where are you from? I remember seeing a post with your nationality before, but, poke me in the eye, I can't remember. Me, North American with European mongrel ancestry. My folk must have got around. I don't think there are too many Euro nationalities NOT in my lineage. Wink

120%. I know the names are a bit misleading, but Italian references are everywhere: fratello (sibling), polizia (police), Napoli and Sicily, and don't forget the entire group belongs to Servizio per le Informazioni e la Sicurezza Democratica (SISDE, the Intelligence and Democratic Security Service). If you've read the manga of later chapters or have watched the anime, you'll see they travel around Italy.

And it's written in ANN's Plot Summary... Cool

Please refer to the Staff List page.

That's good. The more variable of your genetic background, the higher the possibility to create superior offsprings. It's called heterosis or hybrid vigor.

You know, it really might make a difference if I paid attention to what I was reading, you know, actually being awake or something. Sherlock Holmes I'm not. But hey, just rub my nose in it a few times and I might be close enough to catch it. Sheesh. Sometimes I wonder about me..... Rolling Eyes

OK, again, you gotta be awake or, at least semi-coherent, to think of stuff like this.... Confused

Dude, you're kill'n me. I still only have the first manga! You brutalized me about you being up to issue #4 ealier; mercy! And as for the anime, yipes, just club me already. Hastings doesn't carry it, Block Buster is hopeless in that department, and the small mom and pop rental stores aren't all that up on anime. I suspect that'll be a title I end up wanting to buy blind. Uh, is it worth it?! I'll be the first to admit I'm more than eager to get volume #2. Oh, and #3; and #4..... Wink

Well, since I've watched the anime first, I'd say things getting more interesting only spoiler[after the first two volumes (which were both covered by anime).] If you've bought Volume 2, could you check the title of Chapter 7 for me? Thanks in advance.

BTW, Angelica/Marco are very spoiler[Austrian. While other fratello pairs use mixed types of weapons, Angelica/Marco are Steyr purists, using only AUG, TMP, M (Angelica) and GB (Marco).]

At least on this, ADV's editor earned his/her salary: the chapter title is "Ice cream in the <i>Piazza di Spagna</i>" (...or possibly, "Eating ice-cream..."; even though I made it a point to look at it yesterday when I saw the volume in a B&N, I can't for the life of me remember exactly how it went...). But the "piazza di Spagna" bit was most certainly there!

Oh my god! If the Gunslinger Girl manga just been released then that means that it takes forever. I heard about Gunslinger Girl(around a year and a half ago) and thought I might want to buy it but never seen it around in the stores and I'm not able to order stuff offline.

Who translates the manga for us?
