Darn, I really liked that show. It was a bit of a surprise and one of the more entertaining ones from the previous season. I hope they get the green light to finish it.

The "difficulties" being that the first volume sold less than 2,000 copies...

Yeah, the sales were crap, far too small to ever justify a second season. Which is a pity, since I loved the show, its characters, and the offbeat humour which tied in so well to the serious yet engrossing plot. It was a well-made show, with a great pair of opening and closing songs and some excellent direction.
I knew Kamisama Dolls wouldn't get a second season, but I still mourn the loss. It didn't just need a second cour, it deserved a second cour.

Effin' A man clearly anime fans in Japan are smoking some of the stupid stuff because this show rocked hard. If any show deserves a season 2 it's clearly this one. It's a shame that piss poor sales are gonna get the second season canned when a show like Morita-san Wa Mukuchi gets one!? Bull...
The 1 OVA episode I saw was great but the series just didn't hook me as the OVA did for Morita-san.
Kamisama Dolls had me from the get-go and didn;t let go throughout.
/sigh

Was one of the worst selling anime of the summer season, so I'd be shocked if it gets a sequel. First one lost money, after all.

Really a damn shame - it exceeded my expectations. I did get that distinct, "Errr well we don't know if we'll be able to finish this proper, sorry ._." feeling from that last scene. Poor guys.

Are you really comparing a two minute an episode series to a fully fledged TV series.
I liked Kamisama Dolls aswell and would like a second season but it doesn't look very likely.

Aw, crap. I'll be very bummed out if we don't get a second season. And that would be a double whammy because if it doesn't get a second helping that may lessen its chances of getting an R1 license, too.

I for one am not too perturbed about this. I didn't find the series all that interesting, and truth be told, I only started really paying attention once Kana Hanazawa's character was introduced near the end, she being clearly the best character in the series. The pacing was too slow for a 13 episode series and the ending was also lackluster. Maybe they were banking on the BDs selling, but I guess they miscalculated.

I didn't find the show interesting tbh. The tone was all over the place and that green-haired ojou-sama who was acting like a retard ruined the show. There are some elements of the show which interests me like the village, the backstory of the characters, but the way they handle the mood of the series makes me not wanting to take the show seriously. Not to mention that the series reeks of QUALITY.
Also, I feel like dropping the show during that episode where the green-haired ojou-sama groped the big-titty romantic interest.

I found it unbearably awful but still hate to see sales that low because of the effort that goes into these shows even if they don't turn out well.

Kamisama Dolls was a quite decent show. Anyway, the manga is still ongoing, perhaps wait 'till the manga is finished, and then decide whether to reboot the anime with a different anime studio or not in order to boost interest again for the people who never saw the show beyond the big "melons" or never finish the show because of them.
I wouldn't mind several OVA releases (3 - 6 episodes, 40 minutes per episode) to finish the show.

I quite enjoyed the show. It exceeded my expectations for such a premise. However beyond the fact that it didn't sell well, there's also not enough material left to be adapted, it went through seven volumes and a couple more chapters and I think there are 9 or 10 altogether. Most of the second season would have to be original.
