This is called a "burn-out", usually. Somehow, be it time, financial, or content wise, you've just had enough of Anime and have been somewhat oversaturated or whatever. The best bet is to basically stop watching Anime altogether for anywhere from 3-4 months. Then, when you go back into it, take it easy and only watch a few things at a time. |

And don't watch anything just beause it's anime. Be picky and choosy about what you watch. 95% of especially new stuff is simply awful

Sturgon's Law applies to Japan as well.
"90% of everything is mediocre at best" I've had to remind myself of this sometimes. |

I'm still trying to figure out what deing means but I'm assuming you meant dying.
Anyway, anime marathons are bad for your health. Don't watch more than two episodes in a row. Everytime I do I have to take a couple days off from watching anime. |

The same thing happened to me about a year ago. I just got fed up. I got done buying and watching at the time all the popular animes (Bebop, Trigun, Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, etc). Like somebody said take a break. Thats what I did and then all of a sudden I got this urge and lots of money later I am back to watching anime and an astounding rate again.
Also remember lots of anime is mediocre at best. I would do a lot of research before buying your next one. I suggest Samurai Champloo, if you liked Cowboy Bebop and into Samurai anime, its really good. Fullmetal Alchemist and Ghost in the Shell are good too. I believe Cartoon Network is the source of the problem. They rarely come out with new stuff. They usually just rerun all there anime. Like now they are airing Cowboy Bebop and Big O again. The only new stuff they actually air is on one day a week. Even then it's only a couple shows that are actually new. Just take a break, too much of anything isnt good. |

If you're looking to watch anime that makes you think:
Now and Then, Here and There Haibane Renmei Evangelion If you're looking simply for a solid story with great characters: Cowboy Bebop (of course) Berserk By just watching "every anime you can get your hands on," you aren't really being choosy or guiding your hobby. You're letting your hobby control you. Many of the series I buy, I never watch again. Others, like Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade, N&T:H&T, Haibane Renmei and Bebop, I have watched numerous times to catch all the nuances and various themes that pop in the story. Anime that is truly worth your time you will watch over and over again. The rest of the stuff only deserves a rental. |

I found I was getting burned out by many of the series and films that get the most hype on anime message boards (or, more accurately, got the most hype around half-a-decade ago) when they just weren't doing anything for me.
These days, I only watch or read the anime and manga series that appeal to me, like Super Gals!, not the stuff I "should" be watching/reading. But anime and manga isn't nearly as big a part of my life as it was in the mid-90s, and that's probably for the better. |

Hi tenchidragon, how about making your My Anime public, thus people can recommend some excellent titles you haven't got a chance to watch. This shall give others a better picture about which title may interest you and stop people recommending titles you've already watched. |

I keep myself busy with relatively new product as often as possible, but I am into a lot of niche titles that I watch over and over, like Saikano and Haibane Renmei, so my problem isnt as bad. But theres so much of this stuff being released, theres really no way to get bored of ALL of it. Perhaps you just haven't yet discovered a new title that holds your interest. Surely it doesnt mean there isnt anything out there you would like it just means you have to dig through the mediocrity to find it.

This just prove that people with:
1) Too Much time on thier hand 2) Fast Internet Connection 3) No money or lover (bf/gf) get burn out easily. But seriously, most of the anime I watch are the DVD I buy, so it limit me from watching too much anime but the good one (since I don't make much money). |

At first i was really into anime like alot of people started out. But right now im sort of "eh" about it. I, for a time, wasn't choosy. But now I am.
I do expect at somepoint this year iI will veer away from anime, just like I did with some of the bands i listen too, but now I am back listenning to them. Maybee it's just one of those things that when you start you feel, in some way, full-filled, and then you just stop caring, then you decide "what the hell, lets watch FLCL" and wham-o there you are again. Most people will never stop doing somthing they love even if they feel that love has dissapeared. At some point it will come back. It'll be there just like...nastalgic "good ol' times" The cycle never ends. |

What about CN premiering Inuyasha 3 nights a week? Keep in mind that this isn't the first time they've done it either. And I believe the reason for airing shows so much is because the rights to those shows are limited. They want to air it as many times as they can before the rights expire. Plus, shows like Bebop are awesome, making them more accepted and popular. The viewers are probably requesting that they air it. The only reason I'm not is because I own it. |

Don't feel like you're adandoning us or anything. So you don't like anime anymore, so what? That's not a bad thing. You act like your trying to stay sober or something...if you don't like anime, then find something else you do like. It's as simple as that.
