I think there was a problem with the site a few days ago? One thing I noticed today while looking for information about one seiyuu (I use mostly this site because it's well-updated as a rule) is that nearly all the entries for the voice actors (be it English or Japanese) are gone.
You can find information about one particular actor if you know in what he might have played and access that info by accessing the anime first but otherwise? It goes nowhere. As an example (it's presently Friday 7:30 pm here), if I search for info on Miki Shin'ichirou under M [last name]? His name is not showing. To find info? I must go to an anime he played in (ex. "Yami no Matsuei/Descendants of Darkness") and from there, I'll click on his name and I'll access his cast sheet. So the information still exist BUT you will not find it here: animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?ln=M |

Unfortunately, not every actor/actress has a direct link to their cast sheet. Case in point: I wanted to see what other anime roles VA Melissa Hutchinson did, since she was sensational as Chise in SaiKano. When I went to the SaiKano entry in the Encyclopedia, her name was listed, but it wasn't highlighted in blue (indicating a link to her cast sheet). The other option was to go to the People link under Encyclopedia, but her name wasn't listed under "H". I acquired the assumption that since there is no direct link to her cast sheet, either it doesn't exist or that SaiKano was her only role in an anime series.
ANN did had problems with their server back in December, but I don't know how it effected the Encyclopedia. |

I don't know. Normally everyone shows up on the list no matter how many roles/productions they've taken part in, but the list has been short. Sometimes searching for the person works, but search has been wonky on and off, too.

I mentioned it because I've been using the list for months. I know Miki was there before (he's one of the most prolific seiyuu in Japan). As were all the others I knew who were missing. Otherwise I would not have written since I'm not really active here  [/quote]

The link from a person's name to their DB entry has never been there for "singletons", i.e. those individuals who only have one entry. I don't know why it is so, but it's always been that way.
I believe this should be changed. - abunai |

Originally a person's entry just included the various titles they'd been in. If there was nothing else that they'd been in, there was no reason to link to them.
Now that the encyclopedia contains other information about them, I also feel this should change. I believe it's on Dan's now legendary todo list, but things on the todo list get pushed back every time I say, "Dan I need this, it's urgent!" -t |

And one of the many reasons I have linked their Encyclopedia to my journal... and often referred to them in my entries
and for the fact when one is a tad seiyuu-rabid, we can add newest roles to our fav actors' cast list immediately
