Normally, anything penned by Narita gets my immediate attention and the most fervent of wishes to see it licensed and translated, but... A book centered on Don Kanonji? Really? Rolling Eyes

Such a MMOA.

Please, Yen Press or someone else with similar hardcore dedication, license the DRRR!! and/or Baccano! novels. I'm not in a financially stable position atm but nonetheless I'll do everything I can to buy them!

Hmm, this sounds interesting!

The announcement indicates that the main character of the novel will be Don Kanonji.

Let me guess… this light novel will get licensed and translated for the US, but Baccano! and Durarara!! still won't.

No fun allowed right off the bat, huh? he may not spam attacks, look like a bishounen, or give DEEP speeches, but he's a pretty funny character that I'm fairly certain someone as talented as Narita will pen wonderfully.

A Bleach novel could be awesome, but I don't like Kanoji. Sigh.

well this is now a must read. And it will be the best thing to come out of the entire franchise.

This is going to be so perfect! Don Kanonji was made for Narita. Nobody does babbling, delusional goofs like he does.

*dingdingding* We have a winner!! Laughing

Technically, this has happened before.

NisiOisiN (the creator of Bakemonogatari and Katanagatari) wrote light novels for both Death Note & Xxxholic and they were published before Del Rey licensed two volumes of his original series, Zaregoto (which is a really fun, mystery novel.)

So, who knows? If the Bleach novel sells well, then maybe Narita's other novels will be published!
But, of course, don't hold your breath. >_>

Indeed, this could actually be a lot of fun. Kanonji is the type of character that Narita thrives on. This will be good, I've got faith in his work.

And just because the focus is on Don doesn't mean that Ichigo wont be stuck running around as his "sidekick" again.

Sounds like it's gonna be better than the original.

But then again, what's not better than the original these days.

Even with Don Kanonji as the main character, it will probably still be superior to this latest Bleach arc. Awful, just awful.

(License his other novels and leave this one alone!)

That's one person's opinion. I think the current filler is the best filler they've done, it's better animated than most of the TV series and better written than the Fullbring arc in the manga (thank god they finished that!). It's one of the few times I've actually looked forward to filler.

I actually meant the fullbring arc in the manga. It is terrible.

I don't even watch the anime anymore.
