Someone posted on the page that Caitlin Glass performed the English version of "Kokoro no Hane" (Wings of the Heart) when it has been confirmed elsewhere that it's not.

According to the submitter, s/her got the information from "Part 5 Blu-ray/DVD". Anyone has the disc to verify it?
And who's this Samuel "PirateBeck" Savage? It looks like he's no ordinary fan but not exactly a staff working for dubbing studio either. |

NJ_ recently informed me of this and I apologize for the delay in me replying but I may as well clear the issue while I'm here.
But before I site myself, I need to point a few things out. FUNimation has never credited any of their English cover artists on their DVDs, at least in text form. The most that was ever credited in the credits was the rearrangements of songs dubbed by Carl Finch during the early days of FUNimation's existence. I should know this since I actively attempt to find out who works on these songs and sometimes, you would never have been able to guess the singer, like DREAMSHIP (One Piece) and Over the Stars (DBZ Kai), because they were sung by someone who DOESN'T normally work with FUNimation. That being said, I did check with friends who own either the DVD or the Blu-ray. Neither credited Caitlin and why would she be involved anyway? She's been living in Spain for the majority of the year and considering this song was dubbed (at the earliest) March, I doubt she could have been involved even if she wanted to be. But if just my word isn't good enough, and it may not be since I'm not that involved with the industry, I've linked a section of the interview I recorded with Brina Palencia below. I think it covers everything you'd need to know and you can even use it as your source if you want. I hope this error can be corrected ASAP. Discussing DBZ Kai ED2 with Brina Palencia (192Kbps mp3) PS - Thanks for the "he's no ordinary fan" comment. Would like to think all this research is worth something! |

I recently contacted him about this through a YouTube PM and he replied asking me to repost his message that he couldn't do himself on here due to some issue either with his PC or with the forum. EDIT: And it seems that it's because his post had to be approved by the mods first. http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/9232/pmfrompiratebeck.jpg

PirateBeck—while we've got you "on the phone" as it were, can you confirm or deny that the English version of One Piece's "You've Got Me" is sung by Leah Clark?

While I can't back up this tidbit with an audio source, I can confirm that Leah was the voice behind the English version, according to Brina Palencia anyway. In an interview we recorded a while back, Leah informed me that Brina would often share her recent lyrical writing with her via the phone so I think Brina would also be able to recognize her singing voice. I can however, confirm that Caitlin Glass did not sing this song. Someone asked her via Facebook and she stated she wasn't involved via her reply. |
