Hello everyone,
I'm a fairly new ANIMEniac, so i'm not entirely sure where to go to get information about various series' and movies. This site rocks, but I can't find any info about this anime series a co-worker told me about. Basically, the series is about this kid who goes around killing people. this's pretty much all he said. He told me that the rough translation of the title (into english) is, "insane" or something like that... Does anyone know the name of this anime series? Also, what's the best site to purchase anime DVDs? Today I scoured the local DVD stores, in search of the Berserk Box Set, but had no luck. ![]() Anyway, thanks in advance. Cheers, GWP |

For your 1st question, could you mean Berserk? That is pretty close to insane. In the beginning of the series, he was a kid, and he did a fair amount of killing.
As for the Manga/Anime timeline, I'm not sure |

He did say one other thing about the series. He said that it was the most violent anime series ever. He told me the title, even spelt it out, but I forgot it
![]() ![]() The only reason why I asked about the timeline, is cause I figured that if it came out shortly after the 13th manga (which, if i'm not mistaken, is how far the anime series goes), then perhaps they're waiting till they have enough manga 'material' for the next season? I guess this's wishful thinking ![]() Thanks, GWP |

Kite is what first came to mind when you mentioned a kid going around, killing people... I don't know where you get "insane" from that, tho... Seriously, there are a hundred anime like what you've described. Some new, some old, some hentai, some not.. some gore-ridden, others violent without a single drop of blood.. so i think you can understand the difficulty of trying to figure out what show you want.. ^^ |

Do you know what time period / setting the show takes place in?
What kidn of weapon the kid uses (A sword, his hands, a gun, a giant robot, magic) to kill all these people? Like Cookie said, your description could cover hundreds of different shows. But the closest thsing I can think to with the name is indeed Berserk. anime#328 (seems we don't have a review). |

Unfortunately, as I said, that's all he told me about it.
Strange that I wouldn't think of the Berserk series as being, 'insane' ![]() ![]() I will hopefully see him tomorrow (he only works a few times a week), at work, and should get this clarified. I will be sure to tell you what series he meant. On a completely different subject.... I think there should be an anime movie list that lists 'thriller' types. That'd have all the genre's mixed together, but have a common 'bond' of all being thriller/suspense movies. Reason why I say this is because I see anime's like Kite, or Mezzo Forte, that are violent (and can be a little disturbing at times), but they don't really keep me 'on the edge of my seat'. Do you have any suggestions? Cheers, GWP PS. Should I've put this last comment in another thread/post? I would've, but I just don't like taking up good forum space ![]() |

How about a series called Devilman?
"An uneasy combination of superhero serial and macabre horror, it featured a schoolboy to become an agent of good by using the powers of evil." -Anime Encyclopedia |

With the exception of the the part about being kid, I usually hear people reserve that title for Go Nagai's Violence Jack. Haven't seen it myself though, maybe he does appear as a kid at some point. Emerje |

For the other question. You can buy them at digitaleyes.net there pretty cheap and preorders are shipped out a couple days early. but for the ones that are already out I would buy them at cduniverse.com. they are $1 or more cheaper with S&H. suncoast will have almost any series you want, walmart has been selling new anime lately.

Ichi the Killer isn't Anime.
It's live action Japanese. It's directed by Takashi Miike, a very good director prone to making extremely violent films. There is no Ichi the Killer Anime, but the movie is based on a Manga by Hideo Yamamoto. The proper name is "Koroshiya - 1", literally tranlated "Hitman 1." http://www.ichithekiller.com/ |
