Just to keep things in perspective: Geneon can't possibly have exclusive rights to Toei's library, because lots of their titles have already been brought to America by other companies. And while I haven't actually looked it up, I don't believe Toei has allowed all of those series' rights to expire as it has with Sailor Moon.

Yes, I do doubt that they will have exclusive rights to everything Toei has. However, to put things further into perspective, the rights to Sailor Moon weren't cancelled, they are simply being allowed to expire. The licenses for all the series do not expire at the same time, and I'm uncertain, for instance how long FUNi holds rights to DB. That's the bad thing about rights, you never really hear anything if they are renewed, only when they are not.

Well here's to hoping we don't have to put up with an initial wave of crappy no-sub versions or dubtitles. I really hope they're clued into "how things are" for the American market. Otherwise we'll get Funimation Part 3 and have to wait a couple years before someone can get through to them how to not botch-up releases.

Good question.

I don't know if this is for all current titles & future titles for a certain period. I don't know if its for a specific number of titles. Nor do I know if it includes any catalog titles, for example Sailor Stars.

[edit: Geneon's PR firm told me that the details were still being ironed out, so there's were no details (more than what was in the press release) that were ready for public consumption at the time.]

Originally I said that they "didn't know." this wasn't exactly what they had said, so the above edit reflects what I was told by Geneon's PR firm (Bender/Helper Impact) a bit better.

Whoo hoo!!! YESSSSSSS!!! YESSSSSS!!! YESSSSSSS!!!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR AIRMASTER!!! Razz

Ok, ok, I'm good now.

Ok, I have to agree with some of the folks that it's not the greatest show in the world, however I liked it. So I really didn't care how weak the show was in terms of story. It had enough to keep me locked to my seat. But yes after getting through much main points in any story of course its going to drag once it starts hitting the episodes moving toward the end. But hey, I don't care. I liked it. I like the action and the little bit of story there was. But mostly the action. I'm kind of curious how this show ended up having a rating almost enjoyable as Ikkitousen on the rating chart. Which I have yet to watch. And that was nothing more than goddamn panty fest. After watching 'Air Master' fansubbed I kept wondering why would I want to bother with 'Ikkitousen' now?

I'm glad it's finally being picked up! After seeing the fansubs I wondered why this wasn't being picked up. And it came out a year before Ikkitousen. So I sent out letters begging someone to pick it up. Funny thing is that after I sent them the news came in a few days later. And who picks it up but Geneon. The same guys that released Ikkitousen. The 2 shows that I had yet to watch back to back fansbubbed before my HDD conked out. What a coincidence.

I guess my letters paid off. Maybe. Now I can own it and watch 'Airmaster' over and over and over again. Twisted Evil

Oh, yeah and who could not love the end theme song 'Rolling 1000toon'?
