Also, what's this "greatest mess of all time" you're refering to?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's something along the lines of getting a different dub cast for the third Tenchi Muyo! OVA.

Nagisa: The supposed "greatest mess of all times" you speak of has not even happened yet. FUNimation even said they'll try their best to get the original VA's for the Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki OVA 3.

Which is why Mohawk-person suggested it was coming in the near future. I wasn't the one saying they were making the mistake, I'm the one trying to defend them from such (suspected) trivial attacks.

To volunteer to stand in the front line for FUNimation defending the indefensible is noble and I’m sure FUNi will reward those who do for their effort,…some way……maybe. Wink However, I remember them saying the exact same sort of thing for that episode of GXP, but we should all know now how that went. Sadly it only proved what FUNi say, and what they do, isn’t always the same thing in the end. Crying or Very sad Triviality depends on one's point of view. Wink

You can typically pay $5 less than SRP, so that brings the price down to $14.98 to $19.98 for 3-4 episodes of high quality video, audio, with the original language track, and faithful subtitles. It might still be too expensive for some people, but it's not that expensive.

Heya, I just got back into Anime after watching fan-subs of GITS: SAC (eps 1-26), Samurai 7 (eps 1-12), and Naruto (eps 1-101).

Anyways, I feel $5 an episode is too expensive. At that price, the above episodes would cost me >$700 after taxes. Such high prices limits demand, and twarts consumers. To expand this Niche market, I think Anime TV shows need a distribution method different from DVDs.

How can anyone think of $5 as expensive. For 3-4 episodes, I don't consider $15-25 expensive. Its when a DVD gets over $30 do I consider it expensive.

Please suggest viable, reasonable ways then.

Yeah? A few years back, 700 dollars got you Evangelion, subbed and dubbed. Considering that anime used to cost 15-35 dollars an episode, and the really high price it is in Japan, we're practically stealing it with each DVD purchase. Heck, I got Steel Angel Kurumi complete for only 55 dollars. Forty mini-episodes at a little over a buck each. That's less than three dollars a half hour. Five bucks an episode is only expensive if you only want to pay nothing for it. If that's the case, you don't deserve to watch it, period.
