By deep and immersing, you mean "boring and somewhat decent music"? Because thats all I got from .hack//sign, and I even looked at it for it's "deep" elements.
When you say Beetrain, please mean Beetrain in general, not 2/7(or whatever) of their currently licensed series, thanks.
So then Tokyo Godfathers counts as Beetrain, despite being done by Madhouse and Satoshi Kon? Same with Perfect Blue? Same with Azumanga Daioh and My Neighbours the Yamadas? Please keep your definitions to a standard that everyone can accept and relate to, please.

Ok, ok ok, gosh. Well, the animes from BEETRAIN that I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT are the ones I have mentioned before HAPPY!? Yesh, anyway, Have you played any of the games? The .hack games (eventhough the games are repetitive, some what boring, and the graphics don't improve between games) THAT is where the main story of .hack lies. THAT is when I spent 6 months researching everything I could possibley find out about it on the net. SIGN was pretty boring, but it did lay the primice for the main, and good, part of the storyline. Eventhough they're 4 games, and now they all cost about $20 now, it is SO worth the satisfaction of solving something that complicated. I'm even STILL finding out stuff that I didn't know until just recently, like how Morganna (the woman's voice in SIGN) looked like. It's amazing, even after 6 months or so of finding out almost everything, Im still learnng new things about it, that's how DEEP it really goes. Unfortnatly alot of people want instant gradifacation from anime, I want that too, but you also have to excersie some patience, and trust me it is SO worth it in the end when you have learned everything there is to learn and are able to tell other people. Knowledge, my friends, is the ultimate Euphoria.

Sure, it kinda sucks that the licensing is made public only about a week or so before the last fansub was due to be released, but seriously, there have been worse "heartbreaks" this year.
Just yesterday, for instance, the licensing of Samurai 7, which was only half-done, really. Sure, I saw enough of the show to tell myself that I want to buy it, but it'll be a long time between now and the DVD release that catches up to the episodes I've already seen.
And also, while Ayu (and shortly Lunar, I'm sure) have heeded the announcement and announced the end of their fansubbing, the same thing happened for Fullmetal Alchemist and for some reason people have still been obtaining episodes for a long time since the announcement made there. If you need to finish up Madlax right now, you have two options anyway: downloading the RAW file and watching it for that value (even if you don't understand the language, it's not too hard to piece things together with the visuals) or watching the community closely and see if your wishes might get granted.
Personally, I'm just glad somebody is licensing this series. It's been my favorite show of the current season, the one I have to watch on a weekly basis, and it looked grim for a little while as to whether or not it'd be picked up. Now, thanks to ADV, I'll have another 7-volume (pretty much a given length) box set of a good series on my anime shelf here at college.

You're mistaken. Companies don't license shows at conventions. They announce licenses at conventions.

I usually don't get too happy with licenses unless the show is finished and since ADV was the one who got, i'll prolly won't get it. I sure am happy some people are happy about the license though. Good for you!

I have no problem with ADV Licensing Madlax and actually planned on buying the DVDs when the series was licensed and came out here... But why did ADV have to license it before the last episode could be fansubbed?! Now im going to have to wait for the series to launch and then for the last volume to come out just to see the final episode. I have no patience for that!!!

I decided to give Madlax a look yesterday, and then it got licensed Only got 7 episodes, but that should be enough to see if I like the series. All I have heard has been good things of it, but stopping at Episode 25 is a little cruel.

The odds that he Noir girls are up against and walk away from didn't strike me as being realistic at all. I personally like GSG a bit better in that respect, since it offers a (somewhat) plausible explanation for the superiority of the girls in question. They both have a realistic and European atmosphere to them, though

They licensed it earlier than that, since this was only the announcement. Would you have been happier if they announced the license halfway the series? Be thankful you were able to check out the show for so long.
Really, the attitude of certain freeloaders leaves me speechless...

Should they pass up the publicity of a con announcement because a fansubber didn't finish his illegal activities yet? Sounds like utter nonsense to me! Wake up people, fansubbing is an illegal activity that is tolerated by the industry. Asking for favors is just pushing your luck a bit too much.

Like I said in the Samurai 7 thread, I knew a LONG time ago that it had gotten licesneced by Funi. Anyway, I'm already watching an anime raw right now, and that's Yugioh. (It ends in japan next week ) You're probably thinking: Yugioh? , but the japanese episodes are very good, especialy the eps that have not been dubbed yet. The ancient egypt eps (aka Pharoahs memory) is just jaw dropping to look at (the animation is excellent) and it give you such an insight to what the dub will never have. Unfortunaly it is the end of the series because the famous battle between Yugi and Yami/Atem is almost over. (Which will make the loser go to the world of death/shadow realm) It's hard enough trying to translate it on my own, but trying to do more than that is not going to be possible without one of my friends to come over my house and translate it. (btw I'm 15, so my japanese isn't that good yet. I have been having on of my friends from japan teach me to read, write, and speak it.) I don't mind it being dub (last night I was just extremly shocked/pissed off at ADV because I was taking a double whammy last night. I had just watched the dub of "Chrono" Crusade", which is one of my favorite animes, and it was so horrible it brought me to tears.) I just wished they had announced ONE week later.....

You act as if im one of those people who likes to get everything for nothing. However I had every intention to buy Madlax on DVD once it became licensed even before i heard this announcement. And i stand by that decision. I will buy every single volume of that series. Im just annoyed that i'll have to wait for ADV to dub it, sub it, etc. all the while not getting any info on its release. Im still waiting for them to announce the release date for Maburaho for crying out loud. They announced that license last March and theres been little news since.

I can understand your disdain. But patience is a virtue. I have been waiting for some sort of release announcement for Kodocha from FUNimation for quite some time now. I’ve learned not to stress over release issues early on. These things take time.
Watch something else in the meantime…forget about it and then when you least expect it—Madlax will be released. You’ll be a much happier person.

I like getting anime for free. On my budget I can only get a couple volumes a month so excuse if I'm grateful to the people that work their asses off for nothing so I can enjoy it. Don't really care that much about the license of Madlax though, I'll see the last episode eventually.
I don't like ADV's prices, they have bad subs and they take way too long for releasing stuff. What makes not get stuff from them, is theri attitude though.

Okay, as for ADV "SO CRUELLY" announcing Madlax before the last episode could be fansubbed, here's the deal. They aren't doing it to be "mean, awful bastards," they're waiting until the next big con to announce whatever stuff they secured since the last big con (and personally, I'm glad I was able to be there at the panel to hear the announcement in person...it really was much more casual & nonchalant than I had thought it'd be).
Also, fansubbers don't do things on a concrete schedule. They sub it when they sub it and don't plan actual release dates ahead of time because it's not a professional "business" and they don't plan with or even interact to any degree with the companies that license their projects. Maybe you ought to blame your preferred fansubber for being sluggish, or maybe they were being prompt and the combination of the con's scheduled date & the fact that ADV doesn't collaborate with video pirates just meant that the "law-abiding" (used very loosely) fansubbers had to pull the plug an episode early. That's just how it works sometimes; it's not a "sinister plot" on the licensor's behalf, it's all in the timing of when they secured the rights, when the next big announcement-worthy event's coming up, and how quickly the fansubber can churn out the episode.

Ever since I finished watching Noir, I came here and searched for other anime by the same people.. and there was Madlax.
Unfortunately, I thought, it wouldn't be released in the US for at *least* 2 years, the way things go. But this at least knocks off a year
