I'm a big Saint Seiya fan. I love the over the top fight scenes and such, it's a lot of fun. I think that Saint Seiya is a lot more interestng to watch than DBZ. Even though DIC is the company in charge of distributing to TV, and there'll be a LOT of edits, I'll make sure to watch it whenever it gets on TV. However...
Will the series ever get popular? It's an 80's anime and you can definitely tell. Personally I have somewhat of hard time watching old anime, so I can imagine kids having the same sort of prejudice. The fight scenes are really bloody (buckets of blood when it's Shyriu fighting). And there's a lot of really effeminate looking guys, which may repel some guys. I can't help but wonder what the TV Saint Seiya is going to be like, and if it's actually going to draw viewers. |
