Wow, that's so sweet! I teared up a little there. Not only is this such a kind thing to do, it's nerdy and creative to boot!

You guys realize it's probably a PR stunt by the makers of the backpacks, right?
Most real otaku with $3,000 to spend blow it on dakimakura and eroge. If they didn't, they wouldn't be otaku, they'd just be anime fans.

Ok, he's a casual fan with morals. Still doesn't diminish what he did.
A company would take credit.

Not if it gets their name out there for less than the cost of a 30-second commercial.

So far in the Japanese news coverage, the maker(s) of the backpacks has not been named.

If it was an individual, I imagine someone will eventually figure out who it is, seeing as how someone had to have remembered someone ordering a set of 10 identical top-grade randosel... can't imagine they'd go to the trouble of getting them from different places just for the sake of anonymity.

Who cares on who got the backpacks?
I'm just glad there are very kind people out there who are willing to do this kind of thing and with an allies to boot.

New Japan should follow suit. Let us hope that similar acts of charity are soon undertaken by Jushin Liger.
