Has anyone else notice people in the manga, anime, light novel, and Jgame industries die early?
I've notice a lot of people in the industries don't live past 50. |

You're right, the entertainment industry in general is stressful to your health, you don't get enough time to sleep or eat or do anything really, it must be even worse in Japan (a country with expensive health care), considering someone as young as Mico Yada just died. (sigh) No one deserves to die that young, and may she rest in peace. Last edited by ShugoYotsuba on Sat Nov 27, 2010 3:16 am; edited 1 time in total |

Jeez, the past week or two's headlines seem to have something to do with somebody dying most of the time. The other headline today was a guy who replaced a guy who died while directing an anime dying...this is messed up. What's going on? Who's next in the industry?
She looks so young, though! Ugh. It's 2010---we don't have flying cars yet, but we were supposed to, so can we at least have a cure for breast cancer? Dx I guess the anime industry is a risky job. Die young and then have your husband dedicate an anime to you (reference to another recent headline, hint hint). My sincere condolences to her family, friends, and fans. She didn't deserve it. |

Afaik actually, healthcare in Japan is far more reasonable in cost than the US. And they cover everyone with a national plan.
My friend recently had knee surgery done over there while studying abroad for a fraction of the cost for a similar procedure in the US. Besides the fact that her US insurance didn't want to cover the procedure, and the doctors were just passing her off and telling her to just get physical therapy when it's a genetic defect you couldn't possibly fix through therapy... |
