The King of Iron Fist Returns in ‘Unforgotten Echoes’ as a new Story Update Free to All TEKKEN 8 Owners, and Grows the Roster to 35 Fighters with Heihachi DLC Character
IRVINE, Calif. (October 1, 2024) – Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today marked a milestone in the TEKKEN™ series, resurrecting the legendary character Heihachi in the first-ever Story Mode expansion launching today for TEKKEN™ 8. First unveiled at EVO 2024, the DLC update features the new story chapter Unforgotten Echoes, where The King of Iron Fist, seemingly dead at the end of TEKKEN™ 7, has managed to cheat death. The story mode is playable for free for players who own TEKKEN 8 and features Heihachi along with recently added characters Eddy and Lidia. Heihachi also joins the game's roster as a DLC character, growing it to 35 fighters. The revived Heihachi features a new look, with stunning character detail modeled in Unreal® Engine 5, along with an evolved fight style. The new DLC is the third one released for TEKKEN 8 since the game launched in January 2024 and features other new content. The DLC adds an all-new stage, the GENMAJI TEMPLE, a secluded mountain retreat where Heihachi trained with secret monks to elevate his fight style. The new stage features atmosphere changes with time, from a solemn day to leaves falling in the evening to silent snowfall at night. Additional updated game features include a newly customizable Main Menu screen where players can choose which character is featured. The Tekken™ Dojo in the Fight Lounge will also now allow two players to practice together.
The high-profile licensing partnerships for TEKKEN 8 are bringing new content to players, with new updates coming with this DLC. The collaboration with NIKE brings two branded shoes inspired by Jin and Kazuya to the game, available via the new TEKKEN™ Fight Pass. Stylish eyewear maker Gentle Monster will also have a Kazuya inspired pair of sunglasses now available in the game and free for a limited time starting today in the TEKKEN™ SHOP.
