SaikouCon Opens Panel Submissions and Volunteer Applications for 2014

Both Submissions Open on March 10 and Close on May 2

3/10/14 Breinigsville, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention”, is the Lehigh Valley's first and only large scale, annual anime convention.

Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is
excited to be the only annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture and pop culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania.

The convention promises to remain very hands and attendee friendly every year, also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013 a safe haven for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2014.

Panel submissions are now open for SaikouCon 2014, submission form and details available at www.saikoucon.com/events.html. Panel submissions will close on May 2 at 6 pm ET, all age and 18+ panels will be accepted at SaikouCon, accepted 18+ panels will automatically be scheduled after regular convention hours. Inclusion in SaikouCon 2013 does not guarantee acceptance of panels submitted for SaikouCon 2014 regardless of popularity and attendance in 2013; SaikouCon strives for new and original programming content each year! It is the convention's hope that every year SaikouCon will be on the cutting edge of presentation programming even when it comes to fan favorite panels.

Volunteer application is also open as of March 10 at www.saikoucon.com/volunteers.html l and will be closing on May 2, 2014. Volunteer applicants are not guaranteed acceptance as there are only fifteen volunteer slots open for SaikouCon 2014. Applicants that have already purchased Attendance Packages for SaikouCon 2014 will not be eligible for reimbursement if chosen as a volunteer worker, but will receive a SaikouCon Gift Pack and discounted rate for registration for SaikouCon 2015 upon completion of their chosen amount of work hours. Volunteer that have not purchased an Attendance Package for SaikouCon 2014, if chosen to perform as a volunteer worker at SaikouCon 2014, will receive a 3 Day Deluxe Attendance Package for their time as a volunteer worker at the convention. Volunteer workers will primarily be utilized in the following capacities: gofers for the executive staff, panel room monitors (keeping panels on schedule, both starting and ending), helping guide attendees to events/panels/activities if they can't find what they are looking for, helping with screenings, monitoring the gaming rooms if need be.

SaikouCon's Guests of Honor for 2014 include RuffleButt Cosplay (Jessie Pridemore), Greg Houser (Evangelion, Shiki, One Piece, Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians, and more), Bill Rogers (Pokemon, Boogie Pop Phantom, Gravitation, and more), Marc Swint (Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, Anime Abandon), Sonny Strait (Dragonball Z, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Black Butler, Lupin III, One Piece, Ouran High School Host Club, Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, Hetalia: Axis Powers, Fairy Tail).
