Anime Blast Chattanooga Announces a Trio of Cosplay Guests for 2013
CHATTANOOGA, TN – July 24, 2013 – Anime Blast Chattanooga is pleased to welcome back veteran cosplayer
Envel, a guest at the convention's debut in 2011. Joining her this year will be California-based cosplayer Kohalu, and
cosplayer and gamer Trixie J. Valentine.
The growing third-year lineup also includes Johnny Yong Bosch, Eyeshine, Cherami Leigh, Project: Leviathan, and Greg Wicker aka Greggo's Game Shows.
Anime Blast Chattanooga 2013 will be held Nov. 8 – 10 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
Kohalu
Kohalu is a popular cosplayer based in Southern California. He started cosplaying 5 years ago and founded the League of Legends Cosplayers group. He specializes in making wings and large crystals. Most well-known for his recent Aatrox debut at Anime Expo, Kohalu strives to make his cosplays better than the source material.
Trixie J. Valentine
Trixie J. Valentine is a cosplayer and gamer. She has been an anime and gaming fan since she was 8 years old and has been attending conventions as a cosplayer for 7 years. Like many cosplay guests, she began as an attendee and everything grew from there. Her cosplay got her noticed by Anime Company Gaijin USA, Inc and she was hired to head the Gaijin USA STAR GIRLS, booth girls that do photo shoot and promo advertisements for anime merchandise. She has gone on to run panels as a cosplay guest at various anime conventions.
As a certified stylist and avid gamer, she provides a variety of panels from cosplay panels like wig styling, and makeup to her gamer favorite Resident Evil panels. She has been a cosplay guest judge for conventions like Animeland & Anime Karnival. She recently had the honor of being convention chairman for Sukoshi Con in her home state of Alabama. She also operates her own wig styling and accessories business Lovely Lockpicks Couture.
Trixie plans on attending more conventions as a guest to operate panels and judge contests. She also loves to provide panels via webcam for smaller conventions.
Envel
Envel has been sewing, wig styling, prop-building, and armor-making to create her cosplay ensembles for over 10 years. Bringing her favorite characters to life, making friends, and learning every new skill possible on the way is her favorite pastime.
Envel has been competitively cosplaying and winning numerous awards for craftsmanship since 2007 after making her cosplay performance debut in 2012 with her buddy Dust Bunny. Alternating between judging and competing in cosplay competitions around the east coast for the past five years, she's learned so many new things and met so many new people; it adds to her love of cosplaying even more.
Envel is excited to return to Anime Blast Chattanooga for 2013 and can't wait to see what the attendees and competitors, new and returning, have to offer this year!
