UTB Los Angeles Offers Free Kouhaku Broadcast on New Year's Eve
November 29, 2012 - Los Angeles Japanese television station UTB 18.2 will broadcast the special NHK music event "Kouhaku Uta Gassen" on December 31, 2012, with a repeat showing on New Year's Day, January 1, 2013.
The 63rd annual New Year's Eve celebration featuring such high-profile J-Pop performers as Perfume, ARASHI, SMAP, Ayumi Hamasaki, Kumi Koda, and AKB48 will be available free to viewers in Southern California.
Popular artists Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, SKE48, Momoiro Clover Z, YUI, Kanjani8, Golden Bomber, and YUKI will make their first appearances this year at the invitation-only event.

UTB 18.2 Los Angeles is the only 24-hour Japanese station in the United States, offering Japanese-language drama, news, anime, and variety with English subtitles.
