K follows the story of a young boy whose life is caught in a psychic war between seven kings. Yashiro Isana - also known as Shiro - is wanted for a crime he has no recollection of committing He finds himself being hunted by two groups - the Homura, led by the “Red King” Mikoto Suoh and Scepter 4, led by the “Blue King”, Reisi Munakata. Whilst on the run, a young man named Kuroh Yatogami comes to Shiro's aid, and it is an encounter will change his life forever.

When Hakaze sends a distress call out to sea, it is picked up by Mahiro Fuwa, a young boy who's sworn vengeance upon the criminal who killed his little sister.
